So has anybody given it up and how long did it take and how did you go about ? Mrs BB doesn’t have sugar and I tried some of hers yesterday and it was vile but I feel it’s time I gave it a miss, any advice gratefully received.
So your giving up booze too well that’s where the alcohol content comes from don’t it
Might as well just drink water
Don’t be daft i’m certainly not giving up on booze just feel i should knock the sugar in me hot drinks on the head but not sure if it’s best to cut down to half a sugar(from 1 spoonful) for a week or two or go straight to cold turkey.
Have you tried sweeteners instead?
Had to for health reasons, went cold turkey, didn’t take long, same for the fizz, went to diet, after a while normal fizz tastes disgusting!
Just got to get used to it…

Generally i have sweetners at home but when working or out and about more often than not it’s sugar.

But how long ? and does your tea now taste ok ?
Here’s a section from a site with a lot of info you can browse over.
I am a bit of a fitness freak and when I cut out most sugars from tea/coffee, bread and sweets you feel a hell of a lot better all round.
I needed to lose nearly a stone for my fighting weight so ran on a machine for an hour a day for 4 weeks and only lost four pounds but in the three weeks I stopped taking sugar I lost 6 pounds.
It’s not for everyone to give up their pleasures but if you are serious and want to stay healthy it’s worth looking into.
Surprisingly only 3 or 4 weeks, it’s not even too bad after the first week or two.
Tea and coffee taste fine without, coffee took a little longer to get used too, but after a while it tastes too sweet with sugar in.
We’ve recently gone on to decaff tea, since the wife was pregnant and same again, after a while, got used to it and prefer the taste.

Discovered Splenda tablets accidentally a couple of years ago (staying the weekend at my parents and they didn’t happen to have any sugar), haven’t looked back since, used to have one heaped teaspoon of sugar in either tea or coffee now I just have one splenda tab instead.
I’ve never had sugar in Tea and hate tea with it in
You think tea with no sugar is vile try Earl Grey tea YUCK!
Cut out the sugar in one go
Then up the dunkin doughnut intake
I used to take three sugarsn In tea years ago, then decided to cut it out completely as a healthier option. The first few cups tasted terrible , I tried sweeteners for a while, although they seemed to leave a horrible after taste . I cut out the sweeteners, & again went without sugar in tea & coffee.
It was horrible but I stuck to it, and my taste buds adapted to the new taste and accepted . It must have taken quite a few weeks, but with a strong willpower I conquered the quest!
I went for years of drinking tea happily with no sugar, although recently I have on occasion had those 2in1 & 3in1 sachets of coffee with sugar in, and I found as long as its not regular, I can enjoy both with or without sugar. If I have anything with sugar in for about a week my taste buds go back to the crave for sugar

I tried sweetener
Yeah that’d be those godawful saccharin ones (tiny tablets), the ones I have (Splenda) don’t have saccharin in so they don’t taste like ■■■■
However the Wife has always had the saccharin ones and can’t stand the Splenda ones, stupid woman I always said she had absolutely no taste!
Your right reef they were saccharine, & yes certainly not very nice either!
Anything above 25g daily is too much sugar. Sweeteners are not good for you too. Stop having it in your tea and coffee for few weeks and you will get used to it.

I use Candarel in my tea, best thing about it is it comes granulated or tablets, it doesn’t leave a nasty aftertaste.
I started my new eating regime (not diet [emoji6]) on the 1st of August, Joe Wicks/Body Coach & immediately stopped putting sugar on my weetabix & cut down it down in coffee from 1 spoon to about a half.
Lost nearly 2 stone now [emoji106].
As Bonnie stated, your taste buds get used to it, although I can’t quite cut it out completely in coffee (yet)

I’ve tried a couple cups without and didn’t enjoy one bit of it, the trouble it’s difficult to cut down as I have sweeteners at home and tea/coffee machines don’t give out half a spoonful so I really need to go the whole hog but am struggling.

Put one of these in your kit…
1 tablet = 1 spoon of sugar
Thank me later.
