Getting revenge when leaving

Taxi from layby to Stoke. Train home. Keys through the gate Saturday am with a cover note. You may be a few quid out of pocket, and that way you did your best, and can walk away the better man.

Do you really think I can be bothered doing all that at this time of night when I can just drive back at 4.

Obviously not.

If you can drive at 4, then you must’ve parked up at 7pm, hardly late at night is it? Personally, 9 hours overnight with no food, water, toilet or bedding is not something I am prepared to put up with, but if you want to suffer…hey ho!

Getting revenge is quite simply childish. You are the driver of the truck it’s up to you to ensure you have sufficient time to get back in your working hours same as if you don’t take night out gear you can’t complain about being stuck out with no gear. You should have refused to do the last collection and got back home as there was nothing they could have done as you were already leaving anyway. Sorry but your just as much at fault for this as anyone. Like or don’t it doesn’t bother me it’s just my opinion.

4 weeks notice? unless your monthly paid ■■ that for a larf do a week and gone done deal

If you kick the door on the way out - don’t complain if it bounces back and smacks you in the face.

Regardless, the mature thing to do is to leave on the best terms possible. This may not mean completing a month notice. That may be unreasonable & only a fool would hold you to it.

Sometimes it’s best to just shake hands, move on. None of us know what is just around the corner. Could move to a company and the bloke you previously offended becomes your new manager. Haulage is a small world.

This is exactly what my thinking was today. As much as I wanted to get my own back on them I knew it could backfire on me in the future if a future employer rings for a reference or knows the TM plus i didnt wanna screw any of the other lads over.
So I decided I’d txt him to let him know I’m not coming back and the repercussions of Friday’s events had on my family. He never replied to me but at least I can hold my head high knowing I kept my cool and dignity.
Onto the next one…
