Can anyone tell me where I can pay for the toll coming from Friederichshafen via Stockach on the 98 & 81 to Donaueschingen then the 33 to Offenburg, and is the 33 a toll road? Thanks in advance.
from stockach towards donaueschingen there is a shell autohof at geisingen, good food, showers and a toll collect machine. sorry no idea if the 33 is a toll road some b roads are nowadays but the b31 isn’t, i’ve just loaded sauldorf and ran the 31 to freiburg
Thanks for that will get it where you say and just type in Offenburg as point of leaving, but it will be next Monday before I leave here. Could do with finding a better place to park than this bit of waste ground with no facilities whatsoever, looked on t’internet and I think the nearest place is about 10ks away but unsure of that.

Pre-book your route on the toll collect web site, put in any via points you want, just don’t fill in any payment details or confirm payment. You’ll be routed down the 33 if its a toll road or a recognised through road. You’ll be routed round it on toll roads if it isn’t.
No Maut on the B33 through the Black Forest. Very pretty route, though
Excuse my ignorance on this matter lads ( there aint many toll collect points at sea for me to get any practice on) so am I correct on the following:-
On the 31 from Friederichshafaven to Stockach there is no toll to pay?
At Geisengen I pay the toll from Stockach to the end of the motorway near Bad Durrheim?
The 33 from there to Offenburg is toll free?
Or am I arse about face totally
Any assistance is appreciated, tnx
edit… on the way down I got some help from another driver, I showed him the map where I had come from and where I was going and he just said ‘Yah Yah’ pressed a few buttons and handed me the ticket and fuel card back.

The B31 from Friedrichshafen to where it morphs into the A98 near Stockach is toll free, as is the B33 from the end of the A864 near Bad Dürrheim to the A5 at Offenburg.
You have to pay the relevant toll BEFORE you enter the Autobahn, so buying it for the section Stockach - Bad Dürrheim at the Autohof in Geisingen is not an option.
If you are starting your journey in Friedrichshafen, try here: Shell Station Friedrichshafen Albrechtstr. 6
I am not au fait with the toll machines, as I have an OBU (On Board Unit), but I understand that you have to enter a start time when purchasing the toll from a machine. If buying in Friedrichshafen factor in about an hour to get from there to the start of the Autobahn.
On a separate point, If you are heading back to the UK via Lux be advised that the B10 from Landau to Pirmasens has an ongoing truck ban due to roadworks (subject of a recent thread). Boot over into France from Offenburg and run up to Lux via Metz

Which will cost about €30 in tolls, payable at the two toll booths on the A4 autoroute. They’ll take some fuel cards (Shell for eg), most bank cards and € cash. (Two pay booths and one where you pick up an entry card, which goes into the next pay machine)
Try to avoid Strasbourg at rush hour, its dead slow then. But there’s road works on the A5 autobahn, so it isn’t any quicker to carry on past Offenburg up to Achern, cross over the border at Freistett and run down towards Strasbourg and onto the A4 that way
Very grateful for the help, the garage in Albrechtrasse is now programmed into sat nav for early monday AM, 5.3 ks away.
I intended going Offenburg, Metz and Lux, as same way I came down (well… in reverse order). Thanks again, I owe you a pint or two.
edit… good idea joining this site even though I was at sea at the time.
Here’s Harry’s handy how to guide for the toll machine:

Thanks, in the garage you said for the tolls the tasty young lady behind the counter had no idea how to work the machine, would have offered to play with it if she did the same to me but getting too old for that !! ( not the do it urself type) so she said go along to the Shell garage at Immenstaad, all sorted and €8.09.
After an uneventful ride back apart from a short delay berthing the ferry at Dover due to the strong winds I arrived back at Gateshead about 11ish Tuesday. Then I did the 285 mile commute home. The job I did was the one that ‘young trucker’ wanted a driver for. The four days I spent living (existing) in the truck would have been an opportunity to go sightseeing but I pulled a ligament or summit in my ankle the first day so was limited to a painful hobble around the truck park (bit of wasteground) which made the time drag and it was too hot, 34 to 37 deg.
Given the chance to do another one off I would do it or otherwise its back to sea, but at present would rather not.
Quote…but I pulled a ligament or summit in my ankle the first day so was limited to a painful hobble around …
Bit of a bad diagnosis there, the pain got gradually worse during these last few days since arriving back home so I an now sitting around with a ■■■■■■ plaster cast and will be on crutches for the next six ■■■■■■ weeks which means I cannot work any ■■■■■■ where due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, no work no cash
last time I help anyone out whether I enjoy it or no
