German Tolls

After the horse got away I have shut the bloody stable door :exclamation: My old card had expired just a couple of weeks before the accident and was going to renew it but Manyana manyana, if I had of done a visit to the krankenhuis would have been a 100% on the cards. Bit late to worry about that now though  but I’m sure the two or three months I cannot work will soon pass :frowning:

While the card helps it isn’t a major problem if you don’t have it. I slipped off the trailer in Rudolf Wild’s yard in Heidelberg and did my ankle in. They ran me to the local doctors but I didn’t have my card, can’t remember why, and they just took my address and national Insurance number. I had x-rays, bandages and pain killers plus a signed off work for two weeks note. I got back to the truck and drove to my collection then home. About six weeks later I got a letter from the NI department in Newcastle just asking me to confirm I had received the treatment. Job done.

Wish I had known about that Coffee, might have saved a lot of grief and pain.
