Thanks, as for what to do with it, well, Iām not too sure Not work, I do still have my āOā licence but I packed in cos there was no profit in it & I doubt thatās changed too much since 2006, so prob a bit of the other two. A mate suggested āitāll look nice with a bit of blingā!! I just walked away & left him, (lying there!!
)
Everything is sorted now, so (weather permitting) Iām flying to Frankfurt Monday Jan 3rd, then train (via a change at Fulda) to Eichenzen to pick the beastie up. The 5 day reg will be sorted by 3pm and Iāll be on my way back via Venlo to Calais, if any of you guys see a ābobtailā white āglobyā heading for Calais or from Dover towards Liverpool, giz a flash. (headlights only please
)
At this point Iād like to give a special thanks to Brit Pete, without his help I wouldnāt have been able to sort things, my German is none existant and heās been my personal interpreter, thanks bud.
Ross.

You havenāt booked the flight with Ryanair have you because their Frankfurt Airport is a long way from Frankfurt.
Looking forward to seeing more pics of that and glad to hear there will be no bling.

Like Dusseldorf is to Weeze. Frankfurt Hahn is 120 km from Frankfurt Am Main
My mate found that out when he flew into Bordeaux to find himself an hour away from his hire car

No mate, Iāve heard the stories of Ryanair and their ācityā airports so Iāve booked with Lufthansa and, āIām not a bling kinda girlā!! (even if I am a bloke) But it will almost certainly be getting a nice grey leather re-trim on the seats.

The interior isnāt too bad for a 16yr old truck, itās hard to work out if itās got a seat cover on the passenger side or itās the wrong seat & the document case in the middle that usually has the passenger side window switch on it has been removed and a flat cover put over the fuse box. Other than that it isnāt too bad, and both the top & bottom bunk nets are still there, what do you think?

Five hours driving from Venlo to Oostende and six hors driving to Calais. If thatās how long itās going to take him he must have bought a right bag of nails.![]()
Itās old but (hopefully) not a ābag of nailsā!! Itās a 1994 F16 500 which shouldnāt slow up too much on the mountains between Venlo & Calais
Ross.
So would that be speed limiter exempt thenā ā ?
It looks great and to be honest,(rose tinted glasses on!!
), I would much prefer to jump in your Volvo and drive it down to Greece etc anyday rather than āpilotā an autoboxed, computer contolled modern day vehicle.
Im sure that today the new trucks have alot of advantages etc over the old ones (not having to dip your own oil level for example
) but from what I gather they are just not the same when it comes to actually ādrivingā them.
Look forward to seeing some more pics
Did I say VenloāOstende sorry it should have read

2 & half hours from DortmundāVenlo in a car

Blimey Pete, I used to have a car like that.
I was a little bit slow I admit but with a speed
of between 30ā60kmh ,yes it was bad, and we had
winter tyres,
normal time is 1hr,

Thatās the plan?? (what could possibly go wrong
)
Ross.
PS, If your along the Calais. Brugge, Antwerp, Eindhoven, Venlo, Dortmund route early Wed morning, look out for a white F16 Globy heading towards you ābobtailā cos itāll prob be me. Giz a flash
