Gay lorry drivers......Whats the deal?

bloodoodle:
Ask any of you that protest about Gays so much what your ultimate dream is and you would say to watch two women in bed together

Nah, my ultimate dream involves 11 blokes all dressed the same, 90 minutes and a big silver trophy. :stuck_out_tongue:
Unfortunately the two women in bed thing is more achievable. :frowning: :frowning:

all kicking a bag of wind around a field.

Time they got some useful productive jobs!

I can say that personally i’ve never had any approach from any of them whatsoever, this could be:
(1) I don’t go out looking for them.
(2) I don’t look gay so they don’t approach me.
(3) I don’t wear high heals and orange trousers.
(4) I don’t get out of the cab a**rse first and stand there wiggling it about for all to see.
(5) I don’t sit in the cab in the evenings with the window open whistling george micheal songs.

Maybe those who see them everywhere, should look in before looking out :bulb:

Driveroneuk:

No, no, no, the dream doesn’t involve them kicking me around a field.

Gurner:
I’ll quit while im ahead otherwise ill end up banned.

You do that big lad!

I hereby offer my most sincere apologies for this thread.

Gurner:
I’ll quit while im ahead otherwise ill end up banned.

This isn’t directed at Gurner, but the comment above did slip something in (my mind)

Did the law not recently change making it illegal to discriminate against someone based on their ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  (over and above their gender) ?

Going along a similar thought process, if the topic had been about race, or disability, or *insert any ā€œdowntrodden, picked onā€ type minority, would some of the subsequent ā€œaggressiveā€ type replies have been so tolerated ?

Have you noticed these days that any gay-related topic is automatically labelled ā€˜pink’ ? For example, electoral votes from gay people are called by politicians ā€œthe pink voteā€

Well… as gay and lorry driver have now been mentioned in the same sentence, can you guess what I thought the first time I saw one of these trucks?

Just because something is made illegal does’nt then draw a line under it and then sweep it under the carpet.
It is just put there in a naive attempt to stop people debating certain issues.but in the end everybody has different points and prejudices and that will continue to the end of time.
Then there is the FREE SPEECH debate,we are continually told how great our democracy is ā€˜Envy of the world’ apparently :unamused: yet the government seeks to silence people like the Anti gay and the BNP and various other groups and organisations by bringing in stupid laws.
Then the Country ends up in the mess it is now with people worried about offending ā€˜Minorities’(like the goverment)so any debate on matters that are affecting the ā€˜Majority’ are not ever resolved in Parliament because politicians are too worried if they say the slightest thing ,they will be labelled a Bigot or a Racist :unamused:

They’ll be wanting rights and laws protecting Paedophiles next!!! :unamused:

Its just nice ,that although most of these replies have gone way off topic and its 6 pages long, everybody has put their views across, with totally different sides and predjudices, and to a point uncensored.
healthy debate i’d say.

when it comes to making some of you lot bite i wish fishing was this easy.

There is a huge difference between ā€œdebateā€ and persecution.

I have no real problem with someone ā€œnot likingā€ gays/blacks/paraplegics/etc.

I said earlier what my own personal ā€œissueā€ is with homo-phobics.

Should our ā€œfree speechā€ not be tempered by education, tolerance, understanding, tact, diplomacy, respect and dignity ? (to name but a few)

I am a firm believer in free speech. I’m one of the many that have fought in the past, for that principal.

I don’t feel the need to dress up a spade as a shovel, until and unless I am personally aware that the spade would genuinely feel/be insulted or offended.

It would be the spade that had ā€œissuesā€ - not I.

I’m often mischievous - but rarely malicious.

Of course there are a whole host of differing opinions, views and prejudices. Those differences should be embraced, and nurtured. They are not, however, a reason or excuse for the type of vitriol I’ve read in this thread.

After all my ranting and raving, I came across this in another thread . . . . . . . .

Someone else:
Individuality is a good thing , The world would be a very dull and grey place without it.

Much simpler I think.

I can see your point too Dambuster, there are a certain few on here who really need to think about what they are saying and seriously grow up!!!

But then you will always get thick ,bigoted ,ill thought out ,1 sided views especially in our ā€˜Profession’(term used loosely)where there are a lot of uneducated cavemen.

If this was a Forum for Professional Professionals i.e skilled ā€˜Professions’ then the outcome would of been dramatically different

Personally when i’m parked up in a layby for the night I open both windows and play this loudly youtube.com/watch?v=n_MiRWo4Myw It gets the boys ā€œā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  :open_mouth:

No on a serious note a persons ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– /race/religion doesn’t bother me. My girls brother is openly gay and he’s a sound lad. very funny when he’s ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  cos he’s camp (funny camp, not ott), but not camp when sober. Like what was said before its all about your personality etc, not what you get upto in the bedroom or layby or public toilet or car park or …
