There is a huge difference between “debate” and persecution.
I have no real problem with someone “not liking” gays/blacks/paraplegics/etc.
I said earlier what my own personal “issue” is with homo-phobics.
Should our “free speech” not be tempered by education, tolerance, understanding, tact, diplomacy, respect and dignity ? (to name but a few)
I am a firm believer in free speech. I’m one of the many that have fought in the past, for that principal.
I don’t feel the need to dress up a spade as a shovel, until and unless I am personally aware that the spade would genuinely feel/be insulted or offended.
It would be the spade that had “issues” - not I.
I’m often mischievous - but rarely malicious.
Of course there are a whole host of differing opinions, views and prejudices. Those differences should be embraced, and nurtured. They are not, however,
a reason or excuse for the type of vitriol I’ve read in this thread.
