Full load from Glasgow to Kent

Anyone know a good haulier who can being a full load of empty barrels (14 tonnes) from Glasgow to Canterbury please?

arr craib, snt, youngs of hamilton, yuill n dodds,r t keedwell, malcolms, pollocks, monarch transport, barronwood, dyce carriers.

Why not start closer to home with the companies in the delivery area?

Staplehurst Transits? returning from Glasgow fruit market? or is the cap too much for a fridge?

Or Salvatori on your doorstep? Or Alan Firmin?

Errmm… Harry Monk??

Piston broke:
Errmm… Harry Monk??

That’s what I would have said.

Turners/Browns, actually don’t it’ll be me delivering it lol

Salvatori & Alan Firmin are the noise near Canterbury.

Thanks guys. That’s A great help. I have at least one load a month but it’s a constant problem getting a truck at the right price. Too many middlemen and the poor old truck owner ends up with a pittance!

Thanks for the thought but I very rarely venture north of the M62 corridor, and might be packing it in next month anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve not had enough of running a truck, I’ve just had enough of truck driving in general. I’ve watched virtually all of the continental work disappear over the last ten years, that was the only real reason I did the job in the first place. I’m more and more fed up with the 'elf 'n safety nonsense and the over-regulation that goes with the job, the ever-increasing traffic, I have just had enough of the whole thing really.

For twenty years I’ve wanted to live on a narrowboat and spend the rest of my days pottering around the canal network, for the last two years I’ve been planning it. I originally intended to do this in 2016, then it became 2015, and then two weeks ago I actually bought one. I might carry on running the truck for one more year, I might not, I’m just weighing up all of the options at the moment.

Here she is, isn’t she a sweetie? :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s fantastic Harry. I was wondering if there was any progress on this & was intending PM’ing you at some point. Almost the same colour as Marlow’s bus

You could perhaps try selling your lorry with the work as a going concern.

What length is she? The boat not the truck lol. Do you have to put DERV in these now?

Add some curry house curtains and a Kelsa bar and that’ll look just the ticket. :stuck_out_tongue:

Harry Monk I salute you.

Reive & Gossart, or on second thoughts this might be a good back load for R Swains of Rochester.

That looks cracking Harry.

Went to an IWA festival a couple of years back when it was held by us, got talking to a couple that lived on a wide beam up in Leeds and had a narrow boat for cruising. So blinking happy, it’d make you sick with envy

Good for you mate. Looks nice.
Hope you now have the big cork ball keyring to go with it… can’t be a proper boater without one.
