Man TGA 430 xxl, fuel light came on at Newark, was 42.5t gross & managed to get to our yard at Kings Cliffe on the A47 about 5 mins off the A1 towards leicester & put 430lt in the old girl, she was spluttering a bit towards the end tho!

Gibraltar to la jonquera on me r730 on the reserve :sunglasses: fully freighted, keep her lit :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

XF 95 440. Fuel light came on at Podimore, A303, drove to Cardiff and had night out. Loaded Cardiff and drove to Strensham on M5 to meet with someone who had a fuel card that worked. :open_mouth:

When driving for the Belgians and Cloggies we were discouraged fuelling in UK. I spent many a arse twitching moment heading for ferry ports, but eventually got it down to a fine art :sunglasses: , one day got to Hull but I didn’t bargain for being sent up the ramp to next deck, when it wouldn’t lift fuel and just stopped half way up, I was about as popular as a wet ■■■■ with drivers and crew alike :unamused: .

MAN TGX 440. Thornhill to Tebay truckstop. with the fuel warning light on, put 296 ltr in a 300 ltr tank. Ours are non standard fuel tanks. 300 fuel/200 hydraulic oil.

No idea. I’m not stupid enough to find out.

Swindon to Jabbeke . . regularly.
Looking back, that Iveco was crap on fuel considering it had 1200 ltrs capacity. . . had to fill up 3x per week to do 3x trips to Antwerp or Gent  :stuck_out_tongue:

Such a philosophical can of worms!

As a tanker driver, I’d look a complete ■■■■ if I ran out of diesel!
Can you imagine the embarrassment?
Trucks are always brimmed at end of shift so no excuses!!
Daz

I once did Blackpool to Warrington and back on £7.50 worth of diesel in an M Reg VW Golf :grimacing:

That was the longest journey I’ve ever done :stuck_out_tongue:

Drove from Cambridge Services, where I meant to top up, to Corley (Shell Card) didn’t even know our motors had fuel lights. Put 99.3 litres into a 100 tank, proper arse twitching!

When I started there on the vans, I did a Cardiff run in a Renault Master, trip computer was keeping me alert, then all of a sudden went from something like a range of 56 miles, then went straight to zero.

Scraped it to Keele, and put 82.3 litres in. Out of interest, I googled it when I got home, according to the Renault website, they have an 80 litre tank
