Daf 85. warning light came on at Wrexham, made it back to Leeds
Filled up a 7.5 ton vehicle at yard. (100l tank)
Went swindon, Banbury, high wycombe, bognor regis, portsmouth, bristol and back to yard. Put 110 litres into tank.
It was 600km. Furthest I have ever driven in a single day.
600km. Typical day for our lot. Unless you get a Glasgow transfer, which is closer to 900. Poxy 100 litre tanks are useless. Unless you’re brimmed when you leave the yard, you have to stop at Charnock Richard, then Abington on the way back, then Middlewich to stand a chance of getting anywhere on the following day.
Was ok when we used to get the Shell points off our cards

No idea. I’m not stupid enough to find out.Nor is anyone that made it
Such a philosophical can of worms!
Pulled out of Rugby cement at 43980 with the fuel light on a Volvo 460 manual…10km…0 gallons …only a shell fuel card and no fuel at Newport Pagnell or scratchwood…made it back to yard at barking…spluttered and died on the ramp into the yard
Never done this in a lorry but do play fuel light bingo in the car, on a too regular basis.
All well & good till you one day run out & have to make the phone call of shame…
Thanks to the thieving scum who emptied 6 of our tanks while park up in our yard last weekend, this is all I had left to make it to the garage to get fuel. OK the garage is only along the road from the depot, but the tank holds 450ltrs and it took 446ltrs to fill it up again so I’m shocked I even made it that far.
Thought i was doing well ran an hour with light on but reading a few of these id only just started
Think scania’s are generous I’ve only ever run out in a Daf XF. The light hasn’t been on long in that at all so I’d say some tanks are a bit different to others even in the same brand.

Me too, i cant relax if it goes below 1/4 and i dont know where i can fill up.
surely this just points how how crap the fuel gauges are?
