front fogs

Turn the lights on and the dash lights up like Blackpool but there are still vehicles running round with lights off after dark, how the heck can they not notice the mass of darkness and unlit speedometer?

Actually on most modern vehicles now the dash is always lit up possibly causing this problem

I think it causes problems, we have a couple of Mazda 5 pool cars at work, it seems that the instruments are always lit up, and I know 2 of our employees who’ve driven without light for a fair distance on lit roads because they think the light are on. The fact it has an auto headlight doesn’t help, as they only operate when the light switch is in the auto headlight position and some people switch them off and then somebody gets in the car knowing it has auto lights, sees the dash lit up and assumes they are on.

I saw a car last week going down the road like this, dash lights lit up but not a light on anywhere, thing is though it was pitch black and I’d of thought the fact that he couldn’t see jot may have been a clue, perhaps he thought all the trucks flashing their lights knew him.

People who drive round with there Kn-b lights on are dazeling oyher road uses due to the patern of light spread.
Also, the Knob lights light up a area of the road that does’nt need to be seen in normal driving conditions,(who wants the kerb lit up when you’re wanting to see further down the road)
I also drive a lot on country roads, when trucks with top Kn-b light bars come towards you they dazzle you for 20-30 seconds because they dnt think they need to dip there lights because you had’nt needed to dip yours yet, even though you can see theres over the bushes/fences/drystone walls.

Have to start wearing sun glases in the dark… Grr. :sunglasses:
Jaydee.

What are you talking about jaydee? We’re talking about fog lights here, be quiet and get back to your naughty apple juice.

I hope this helps.

I think he’s more on about the people driving around in Kelsa display stands.

Life is way too short to worry about such trivial things in my opinion. Don’t look at them and they won’t dazzle you.

+1,
I used to get annoyed with drivers inappropriately using front/rear fog light, now I don’t “look” at them = no problem

You should start a new thread,

“Who should dip first”

 Sorry I was having a bit of a rant. I have split it in half for you.

People who drive round with there Kn-b lights on are dazeling other road uses due to the patern of light spread.

Who cares. Live and let live. I drive my truck, nobody else’s :unamused:

Fog light misuse gets on my ■■■■ to and these new DLRLs. If you cant ser, put your lights on. If you can, turn’em off! Simple rule of thumb.

Even more annoying however, is a Nissan Juke at night, with its fog lights on!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn…

Well i’ve said it before ( on the last thread about fog lights about two weeks ago) i use ny fog lights most of the time, the headlamps on my Scanny are absolutly crap even after been checked and reset, when it gets lighter i usually turn the headlamps off and leave the fogs on so that other trucks can see more easily when i flash them in.

Madguy :smiling_imp:

never ever been dazzled by any fog lights :unamused:

it’s quite often the people moaning about them who haven’t got them fitted  :stuck_out_tongue: :grimacing:

Ever though about they could be day dunning lights

matt3903:

You want to try working nightshift, some of them look bloody crazy!

Although the foglights award has to go to the doughnut driving for A W Jenkinson on the M6 Last night. 2:40am, driving on fog lights and sidelights only! Visibility must have been about 8 feet…

Working nights, Living and yard 1 hr away from the nearest m.way.
I useualy get these Kn-bs catching me up on single track roads.
If the Kn-b thinks he needs his front fogs on,
he then gets the pleasure of my rear ones, sometimes for the full hour or until he gets fed up.
Of course I could always pull over and let him past…
Like hell especialy if its one of those white tankers

When somebody drives towards me with their front fogs on I’ve developed this awful habit, it means that my main beam comes on about 50 yards before they’ve passed
