I thought that the use of front fogs were illegal unless weather and road conditions are bad??

Very annoying, also the folk who insist on main beam all the time on unlit twintracks.

to be honest, i did aswell. amazing how many people think that rain counts as bad weather :unamused:
i could be wrong, but assumed that front fogs, were just for that, fog. any other time, just pointless and a minor annoyance to someone like me.

Yeah, grates on me big time aswel and thought it was just me. Every other bloody car lattely seems to have front fogs on at night when its perfectly clear. I reckon its a case of some of em think it looks cool or they think they can see more with them on. Ive also noticed the new “rain lights” on the back, these seem to come on when its just wet and previously occupy the space of fog lights :unamused: :unamused:
Back about 30 years ago i can remember my mum getting pulled by a copper and she got a bollocking for having front fogs on, cant see that happening these days though! :unamused:

Its called the right of free speech and conversation. We get regulated enough as it is without having it on a bloody forum aswel.

Trust you to come up with an amusing reply like that one

Pain in the arse the drivers who drive about 12 months of the year with fog lights on,when challenged most of them say they didnt know they were on,load of ■■■■■■■■ i say, most modern day cars fog lights re set themselves when the lights and ignition are swithced off. The light displayed are easy to know if fog light or not if it has the letter B on it then its a fog light if not then its not.simple.

LOL!!!

Plod can fine you £30 for misuse of your fog lamps and I’m sure I read somewhere (highway code maybe?) that the maximum penalty at court is £1000 for this

Lack of attention half the time, laziness and ignorance for most of the remainder.

Turn the lights on and the dash lights up like Blackpool but there are still vehicles running round with lights off after dark, how the heck can they not notice the mass of darkness and unlit speedometer? Absolutely no hope of seeing a fog light icon when they do put the brain on gear,

Blown headlights is another bugbear, seems some can run round forever with one blown headlight and get away with the motorbike impersonation, shows they haven’t bothered to check them (and be honest, parking in residential streets they are going to know about it).

I had one blow just as I hit the motorway going home one night, plod had just passed me and saw it go (I did too) and they gave me a tug, demanded I change it there and then on the hard shoulder, I carry spare bulbs but as it was the driver’s side I said I’d run to the first layby on the Edinburgh bypass rather than stand alongside the car 3 inches from the live lane, bit of a discussion followed but I was pretty adamant, hard shoulder for emergency use only and it wasn’t an emergency situation, the layby would keep me out of the traffic a bit more and save them having to shovel me into a bag, eventually they agreed, sat in the car and watched me do it too while christ knows how many others with one light went by without a second glance.

If that actually happened I’ll paint my arse blue.

Maybe it has been done to death, but the first time I ever drove a car with rear fogs was in 2008 when we were over for a trip. I had a Skoda Octavia on hire and didn’t know anything about the fogs. So there I was driving down the M6, minding me own business, overtook a lorry and got all these ■■■■■■■ lights in the mirror. When I got to the next services I found out what was going on and switched 'em off. I hadn’t noticed the light on the dash (not even sure there was one to be honest) and if I had, I wasn’t going to start ■■■■■■■ about at 70 + trying to find out what it was. Oh, and yes, prats driving around with yupee lights on give me the ■■■■■ too.

Mis-use of fog lights is annoying yes but so are the trucks lit up like a Christmas tree…

Well i’ve said it before ( on the last thread about fog lights about two weeks ago) i use ny fog lights most of the time, the headlamps on my Scanny are absolutly crap even after been checked and reset, when it gets lighter i usually turn the headlamps off and leave the fogs on so that other trucks can see more easily when i flash them in.

You see so many people using front fogs that I’ve can’t be asked to get wound up by it, looking at them they can’t all be boy racer posers. So it must be they either haven’t got a clue or don’t care.

Rear fogs on in the rain at night or only having parking lights on in marginal conditions now that is annoying, but there’s bugger all I can do about it as I’m not allowed a rocket launcher mounted in the grill of my car or truck.

Actually on most modern vehicles now the dash is always lit up possibly causing this problem

Mr Crabface never fails to make me smile.

Life is way too short to worry about such trivial things in my opinion. Don’t look at them and they won’t dazzle you.
