Is it me?.. Or is freightliner stuck in the 70s, and staffed by the most bone idle militant people you are ever likely to encounter!

Just like any government run department, they have no competition as such, so don’t need to make an effort to please so carry on as they are.
No share holders no profit sharing, infact I doubt they make a profit.
No different to how British Rail were before it was privatised.

You are 17 years out of date there, Freightliner belongs to “Arcapita” which is a private equity investment company wholly owned by a Bahrain bank but run operationally from Atlanta Georgia. This means that the only thing which matters is profit and increasing company value, the length of the queue matters not a jot.
I only use middlesbrough depot and they are staffed by some of the most friendly and helpful people i have met in the job, never there more 20 minutes or so, doncasters not too bad either although i have only been in there 3 or 4 times

Ok stand corrected, but the only way they can be profitable is the money they get off the government, which actually makes it worse, because it is tax payers money going out the country!!
I also wait to be corrected on the above statement.
But it doesn’t excuse them from being a shower of ■■■■.
I only ever have a problem at Leed
80% of Manchester gate staff are nice, and personable if you chat to them, the other 20% are ignorant scum who will read the paper whilst you’re sat there with your paperwork hanging towards them in the ■■■■■■■ down rain.

Leeds can be arrogant ■■■■■■■■■■ once got accused of ‘ramming the barrier’ because I threw the paperwork in through the window and left after the muppet who should’ve been manning the exit desk decided he’d have a ■■■ and I was right on my 15hr limit, so I offered him the paperwork, he told me to leave him whilst he had his ■■■, so I did. Gate was already open, so I threw paperwork through and drove off.
I’ve been banned form Leeds and Manchester in the past, Leeds for the above incident, Manchester after an argument with a lifter driver with an attitude problem that I offered to cure for him, but now I get on ok with him, we had a chat, shook hands and let on to each other when we see each other now.
if you think Leeds is bad, you really should go to Birmingham

I always found Birmingham to be ok to be honest, but I always dealt with the same girl, once I had a lad at the window, sent me back to my truck for something or other, came back, the girl was there and she said he was a ■■■ and they could’ve dealt with it at the window.
The lifter drivers in Brum can be a bit arsey at times though
5 1/2 hours inside the terminal, and about an hour queuing to get in the terminal
Although I have moaned about Leeds in the past months they seemed to have improved no end. Even get a " good morning " and " What can I get you " from the lifter drivers.
The new system at Manchester seems to be a big improvement Although there was a queue this afternoon it was moving quite quickly.
Never have a problem at Doncaster, same at Redcar.
Only been to Birmingham a couple of times and have to admit it was crap.
They should leave all the containers in China America etc then it wouldnt be a problem,

i’ll second that, they are a good bunch of lads and lasses at f/line redcar. don’t go to leeds very often but i find them to be a right set of tossers.
Manchester always used to be a joke, how many times when I might as well of stayed in bed did I turn up early on a monday morning to get a box with a reference for an out of hours lift, and none of the lazy bone idle dumb [zb]'s knew anything about it, or wanted to know anything about it . Must of spent hours waiting for 8 o’clock and the office staff to arrive, and the fax was sitting on the desk just waiting to be looked at
Another regular job was going into F/L depots to retrieve boxs that had been sent to the wrong end of the country, then delivering it to the correct part of England on behalf of F/L

Sounds about right, not a bad number tbh

No ! … Mine is stuck in the 90’s
It has almost the same dashboard layout as the FH12 I used in 1994 and it’s the latest Frieghtliner model
All heavily unionised firms are the same. A mate of mine is a manager in the Royal Mail and he can’t do anything without running it by the union first. He says the posties he has working for him (particularly the old timers) have a terrible attitude and they regularly refuse simple, reasonable requests. It’s insubordination and he can’t do anything about it, because they hide behind the union.
