Anymore?
wheres that one thats a repsol paul? km 97? would that be on the left if you were southbound? or is it the one with the big hotel where continental express do their changeovers?
A4 280 food might not be the best but it is a good truckstop if anybody needs something for the truck, truckwash, shop and repairs.
my only reccomendation is A4 southbound km81 La Guardia next to the bp garage is venta de molino where menu is only 8 euros and free chupito afterwards and the waitress is proper fit

Any “AUTOGRILL” restaurant offers 25% off the menu price for PSV/HGV and ambulance drivers,in France you find them on the Autoroute, they give drivers a map of their service areas. Some “Autogrill” in Spain offer the discount too,at the last one before you leave Spain on the motorway near Irun.Parking allways full though.Great Cous Cous or Moroccon Tangine meal with dried fruit and lamb/chicken.Ask staff for a form to fill in,they give you a card back.Free coffee with some meals.

Almost all the service areas in France give routiers a discount on a hot meal.
As you order your meal, tell them you’re a routier, you’ll almost certainly get 10% off the price, if not more.
Some ask for proof, your photo-card licence will do perfectly.

In my experience the discount is between 17% and 23% depending on what company run the services
The Autogrills in Spain are still to expensive with the discount compared to the local hostals and the food is never as good imho

exactly but then again if all you are used to is MacDonalds then I suppose even Autogrill becomes exotic
I really find it hard to understand why anyone would even consider eating in an Autogrill when there are so many bars, restaurants and hostals serving superb home cooked food at incredibly low prices.
Maybe as Vascoingles says its the “McDonalds” syndrome - or the the typical Brit “steak and chips please, Im not eating any of that foreign muck” attitude.

Cripes, I used to go out of my way to find the places where all the Spanish trucks were parked and eat there!

I think I prefer the free wine that most proper restaurants offer tbh The Autogrill at Irun is more like motorway food than most places in Spain, and the 25% discount is still €15 or more compared to the average private establishment where you would expect to pay between €8 and €12 including 3 courses, wine, Gaseosa, and a coffee to finish the meal off
Would try and use the National road establishments, but for time constraints, and a moany old boss, the Autogrill Irun, was handy if in a hurry.Parking off the motorway is a pain.
popped into my bosses favourite restaurant on monday on way home. called el zegri in between jaen and granada. ordered the house special which is goat and garlic on the “plancha” but when i asked for my bill the owner said “nothing for you rafa is my best customer”
rafa is my boss and thats a quality freebie
Ever tried the manos de cerdo, hands of pork or trotters.Cold soup is good in the summer, they put ice cubes in it.As all of Spain, lots of salads, fresh onions.
you want a nice bit of pork you should order the iberican secret, its a cheek of pork, very tasty and surprisingly quite meaty.
P.S. its the cheek off the face not the bum
