Should truck stops and service stations supply free fruit to HGV drivers rather that the odd free coffee here and there? I would personally love to see this happen but I doubt it ever will. Thoughts?
Sorry forgot to mention free fruit to those buying diesel.
Well, it isn’t actually free then is it, fruit…bad for you might make you live longer.
Well for the employed driver it is yes because he doesn’t pay the fuel bill.
How many drivers have scurvy
I do like my fruit but my boss dont like service station prices
Scurvy it is then
Free fuel would be better?
Perhaps the operators that buy at service stations can subsidise for those that don’t? Am I digging myself a hole here? This is just something that I’m quite passionate about, the health of us guys. I feel sorry for some guys I see climbing out of the cab and climbing back up.

Free fruit is free fuel.

Fruit goes off faster than coffee.
You need a long shelf life product with good nutritional value.
hey missus and you thought you waffled, I need a coffee after reading this post.

Fruit would be the cheapest option and I think there would be so much demand that it wouldn’t have chance to go off.
Spam-Javelin I have the World’s most expensive watch, well almost. The watch cost close to £12,000,the fact the real value of the watch was about tuppence is neither here nor there but
to obtain that watch I had to spend £12,000 on derv at a Shell station. No such thing as a free apple or pear could end up as the most expensive fruit on planet earth. And if your concerned
about drivers climbing in and out of their cabs perhaps you should direct your efforts to ‘Free Stannah Chair Lifts’.
Fruit is just about the only foodstuff I don’t enjoy eating.

£12,000 thats cheap. And please consider how much that watch cost to make, the process it had to go through to get to your wrist I can assure you it wasn’t a tuppence. Does this watch promote healthy living? No! Stairlifts on wagons? Now your being silly. My idea is not impossible. We are talking about apples here not golden nuggets.
How’s about a free skipping rope?
Ya could do some exercise get the heart pumping wake yourself up a bit all while your throwing the motion lotion in with the auto trigger.
Just a thought
we would just be told to bring it back to the yard ," its not yours its mine "
Fruit is the main part of my diet.If you’re wanting free fruit then times must be hard financially.
A bunch of about ten bananas are £1.50, satsumas 10 for £1, 6 apples for £1…etc…
I spend about a tenner a week on fruit and as i say, i eat fruit more than anything else.
Fruit would be a bad idea… it contains far too much sugar (and dont believe the hype about it being ‘good sugar’, there’s no such thing, too much fruit will make you fat).
Free veg would be a better idea.

It’s true, it will also give you the squits and destroy your teeth if you’re not careful.
As another poster mentioned no everyone likes it. I struggle with fruit due to high acid content, not pleasant. Veg please!
