A man pronounced dead at the scene after an accident early this morning. The Toyata Varis was buried under the tractor unit.Road closures all day on the A350.
It appears the car driver was on the wrong side of the on a bend.
In the This is Wiltshire and Wiltshire Times website photo you will see the car under the unit.
Look to the rear of the trailer and the debris.
The oil\fuel slick is a long line.
The point of impact is a long way back.To where the oil slick started.
The energy of the impact went in the car.And pushed it in the position in the photo. It appears the truck is in the wrong side of the road.
But at impact the truck was in the correct position.
Witness reports the car driver was over taking in an erratic manner before the crash and was at high speeds.
At a guess;Late for work.Missed the alarm clock.6.20 am the crash was.

Indeed, the plot thickens. Call CSI.
Columbo, Kojack or Inspecter Clouseau to investigate. The car was heading siuth. If he was on the run why not be heading North.Or was he returning to the scene of the crime.

I don’t think anyone would’ve guessed right TBH.
Looks like it could have been nasty if he was relatively unharmed.
I just hope it is not another case of a truck driver being sadly involved in a deliberate suicide accident as happened to me !!!
I hope the truck driver is able to overcome his fears and self-blame if that is indeed the case!

^^ That was my first thought, the poor bloke. Calous way to do it if it was planned but then he has travelled a long way to pick his moment. Selfish git held me up too.
Can you even overtake erratically in a Toyota Yaris?!

Can you overtake at all in a Yaris, I’ve never seen any evidence of it!
Seriously, regardless of the circumstances, I feel sorry for the lorry driver and the people the car driver left behind, somebody must have loved him!

The victim of a fatal car crash had murdered a man a few hours earlier, police have confirmed.
To lighten the mood…

It could make a good “Tales of the unexpected”.
At impact the car broke the air pipes on the truck brakes so the driver was unabke to control it.The car was then pushed backwards. It is only a guess but i think he commited suicide.
Yes, it was a suicide following a murder.
Overdrive Olly:

So much easier than the other way around.
I mean the car driver killed the man then commited suicide by driving in to the truck.
OK CSI groupies. If he committed suicide, then why choose do it on a bend where there is a fair chance that there won’t be anything on the other side of the road to run into? Surely it would be more effective if you suddenly swerved into a truck after getting up to speed on a long straight bit, heaven forbid. I think the coroner will say that these actions were caused by someone whose balance of mind was disturbed, but it might he hard to ascertain that he intended to kill himself. Of course, as ever, we don’t know all the facts. Sorry if this speculation appears tasteless to family and friends involved.

He was driving on the wrong side of the road in a vehicle he stole from the bloke he’s just murdered, and made no effort to deviate or brake when something was clearly coming towards him.
What other conclusion can be drawn. The coroner ruled it as suicide, and no doubt he/she would have a lot more evidence than what has been reported.
Although no fault of the Framptons driver how the hell is he feeling ? Crap i’d imagine.
