Foreigners nicking all the jobs (UK)

I have to laugh. My wife’s Polish. She has a Masters degree in Economics and ten years experience as a Financial Analyst. On top of this she has lived in Canada, New York, Munich and here in Plymouth. She speaks fluent English, Russian and German, not to mention Polish. To her credit she married a English truck driver and put him through university-and had our son along the way. When I asked her opinion of the ‘Polish question’ regarding employment over here she said ‘They wern’t asked, they were invited!’

It seems that RobK veers between posting well thought out and highly helpful posts, and posts which could be described, at best, as trolling muppetry.

Well, fair enough. We all have our different moods but as RobK has not re-visited this thread, perhaps its time to let it fall asleep.

Hmmm. I see I’m surrounded by idiots again who have severe difficulties in reading what on their screens 2’ in front of their eyes and instead prefer to concoct up something completely different in their tiny heads. :unamused:

All the nay-sayer’s, please point out to me where I said that I[/b] send foreigners the wrong way or don’t wait for them etc. Guess I’ll be waiting a long time then eh? :unamused:

Maybe so, RobK, but the implication was that you thought it right and fair.

I won’t rephrase what I said about migration. I meant, more than anything else, those who smuggle themselves on trucks, but the Eastern Europeans are doing something which I can’t approve of. Economic migration, in the way I meant it, is nothing more than scamming, and we all had to pay for it.
By the way, I didn’t come here for economic reasons, I came here because I was sick of my country of birth.
I grew sick of the constant degradation of the right to reply, the collapse of everything good. I didn’t want to live there myself, so I really didn’t want my family to have to put up with it.
They’re glad we moved. They understand why.

I have many stories from a few years ago too. Changing tyres with drivers who spoke no english and I didnt even know what their language was. Sitting drinking tea with Iraquis (pretending to help) as they rebuilt a F10 gearbox in a truck park. Being weekended and heading off for a Sunday out with drivers from all over Europe.
More recently changing a tyre in an English motorway services with english drivers making derogatory signs and laughing as they passed. Asking a driver for directions and being ignored.
Getting directions from a polish driver to a RDC in England!
It is a different job today, nobody helps anyone, and the messages at the very beginging of this topic are typical of modern attitudes.

Why does it never occur to Rob to think “maybe it’s me”?

I can’t Rob because you didn’t :unamused:  . I also now remember the case of you leading a Pole through Leeds
Sorry :open_mouth:

Least if your surrounded by Idiots you wont feel left out :grimacing:

Last week I was shown the way to a drop in Enfield by a German driver. I showed a Belgian guy the way to a drop in Dienze and many French blokes have asked me for directions in the Republic.

Obviously Agency drivers in the uk know it all and dont need any help in a foreign country

Well there is the biggest KNOW ALL going working on the agency, says it all :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :grimacing:

Interesting replies to Robs comment reminds me,
In the late 70s i was working for the now defunct frigoscandia based in Glasgow we were taking irish beef from Whiteabbey to Bacau in Romania and while on my way back to Bremmerhaven to load bananas (some distance empty but they were agood rate) i saw a turkish tonca(6 wheeler) in a lay by with wheels, tyres, flaps, trying to stitch a cut in atyre so i felt sorry for him and i lent him my bald spare and drove away expecting never to see him again but on the next 2 mornings i woke and the tonka driver had the chi on how he found me i dont know, any way we parted and went on our routes then 5 or 6 years later while working for Alan Dayson at Carlisle my first drop was Istanbul and i had to clear customs at akseray football stadium and in the parking there was a restaurant the european drivers sat outside on the posh tables and watched the transhiping of loads(thats another story)the turks sat in main room hookas n ■■■■ Isat down with the misses then i was acosted and taken thru the back, the wife pannicking didnt know what was happening it was the tonca driver who now had 4 artics the next 3 days while clearing i hardly saw the wife she went with the lads family she has seen more of istanbul than i have ever seen, I always say a turk is a good friend but a bad enemy and if i park abroad ill always park with the turks because they miss nothing. :sunglasses:

WHAT you posted is TRUE and those who know first hand
will just say thats how it has all ways been, and this goes for
for any of the drivers you meet on the road and help ot just talk
to, and from what countrybe it finnland to iran, and all points in
between.

2nd that Pete, and it makes you behave the same way too. I once handed over to my mate to continue with the bus to drive a small van over a snow covered pass in Turkey (not Tahir, we were heading south to Syria) because the driver of it was too nervous. All we got was chai in return but also a warm feeling not just as a result of the tea. I have been paid back in kind many times in the Middle East and beyond.

I can never forget the Turk who rewired my Saviem in a service are in Belgium, in return fir fo a 60BEF ice cream.

I remember the ■■■■■■■■ in the pudding shop who decided that all the Turks were knobs. Guess who won, it wasnt the ■■■■■■■■ :stuck_out_tongue:

Rob K:
Thing was, my mate didn’t wait for him and [zb] off on his own with the argument that it was tough [zb] as they should know their way about and be able to find places for themselves, adding that it was these [zb] that are nicking all our jobs so why should he help them and if they ever come up to him asking for directions he sends them in the opposite direction.

Hands up, who’s guilty and feels the same?

I dare to say that the above comment is further proof of your poor intellect and manners. Why don’t you go about and start sending your politicians in the ‘Wrong Direction’ as they are the ones who allow people like me and all others into your frigging country? I made up my mind and will move back to pig’s land in the New Year and I have also decided to give all ■■■■■■■ British (brutish) drivers what they deserve. This may place me on the same level with you lot but I am sick to the bone to further take senseless abuse of mindless and primitive people like you.
You seem to have a real problem to live along with people who virtually sit in the same boat and who struggle just the same to earn a damned living if not even more than you. But hey, these people are easy targets and much more vulnerable than your politicians or greedy employers. You should be ashamed of yourself.

P.S. you may kick me out of the forum now. Thanks

Peter, I couldn’t agree more but the whole situation and hatred towards those so-called foreigners is getting completely out of hand. Four weeks ago I was driving a German plated lorry through Leicester. I approached a roundabout on a dual carriage way however, one lane was blocked due to roadworks. I was already driving within the funnel when this very nice british collegue of mine came hurtling along, forcing me to break through the cones and coming to a halt just feet away from a gaping hole that was digged into the ground. After sounding the horn more in disbelieve than in anger this ■■■■ has been waiting for me behind the roundabout to tell me that I should get out of ‘HIS COUNTRY’ or I would get what I deserve.

I think roadsailor has some valid points bullit. I am British (and certainly not proud of it) and my little experience while driving a foreign licenced lorry in Leicester will make me sympathise more with Roadsailor than you and your ignorance. Feeling pretty upset, don’t you?
