Foreign vehicles parking charge

I am told by a well known motorway service area group that it is very difficult if not impossible to in force overnight parking for non-UK registered vehicles.

As a lot of the big boys in the motorway service industry are using ANPR to charge for parking but if its registered outside the UK they have nowhere to send the fines.

I suggest they bring back the knock on the door if no voucher is shown in the windscreen

They would if it was financially viable :bulb:
The world has moved on maybe with the advent of technology

Bloody great when I was driving for the Europeans no parking charges followed up, no speeding fines by cameras (different reg plate on rear of trailer to unit…legally) straight through the congestion zone no probs.

Btw why the ■■■■ are you bothered have you got shares in Welcome Break or something, that’s the only way I can see it directly affecting you.

Yes it’s great  but if your boss had the balls you wouldn’t have to either it is not a legal requirement to pay it is just that everyone does.

quote … ‘nowhere to send the fines’

They are not fines, they are extortionate parking rate charges and legally unenforcible, only idiots ever pay the demands that fall on your mat, and I don’t care what anyone says to the contrary !

Maybe I have

Why should they pay, when they travel all over Europe with no charges.
Go on most routes in EU and there are Public parking areas, your not compelled to park on extortionate rip off services areas

Are they the ones on the toll roads ?

to be fair in Italy I never once paid to use the motorways - it was a case of buzz buzz buzz on the intercom and polici moneies until they gave up and raised the barriers, god I miss the 90’s

lol nothing like a steak bleu think it is about 10 minutes from the field to the plate with 30 seconds in the frying pan on the way

Personnally I prefer my steak “A point”

But for those ordering steak this is how to order your steak preference in France
• Bleu - Done on a very hot grill for 1 minute on each side.
• Saignant - Meaning bloody. Very rare, but cooked slightly longer on the second side than a ‘bleu’ steak.
• A point - rare for British standards. This implies that a steak is cooked a little longer than a ‘seignon’ one.
• Bien cuit - ‘well cooked’. This level will still often have some pinkness in the middle of the meat. A ‘bien cuit steak’ is cooked until the juices run brown on the surface of the steak.
• Très bien cuit (!) - should get you a steak that is totally cooked through!

Yeh well I still aint gonna lose any sleep over MSAs losing out on few extortionate parking charges. If anybody is daft enough to park on them for what they charge that is up to them.

Doesn’t it come under “theft of service”? If you willingly use a service you know you should pay for, but with no intention of paying, you’re on dodgy ground. It only takes one test case.
Personally I object to the charges, so don’t use them, except for a toilet break.

didn’t the government give them the land to build on so its actually not their land to charge for?
