It’s amazing how many “victims” were at the bar or baghouse that night/week or always on the bandits on the ferry

I remember on here someone posted and a lot of drivers knew the truck think it was a Volvo a Brit who had a plate in the screen saying tunnel fire survivor or some crap.

They’re lucky there’s no law against being stupid, or they would be getting life without parole :unamused:

The old bill should nick them and move them on to a safe place, make them start their rest period again and keep them there until they pay the fine :bulb:

If they’re worried about getting pulled by the BAG, Gendarmes etc, there’s an easy way to do that, don’t run until the last minute on the tacho and expect to find somewhere to park, they’ve been on our roads for at least 9hrs, unless they’re blind they cannot be under the assumption that they will be able to park wherever they want, whenever they want, so they need to take that into account. they will not be getting nicked because Britain doesn’t have enough facilities, they will be getting nicked for being stupid and breaking the law :open_mouth:

If they don’t like that, tough ■■■■■■■, there’s a simple solution to it all, if they don’t like paying to park like the native companies have to do, or they can’t find a safe place to stop because they don’t know their way around, simple…■■■■ off back where they came from and don’t come back :bulb:

Agree wholeheartedly…thats why the muppet was crying like a baby saying that he drives in Russia, Turkey and Europe but only England causes problems…well yes matey, we have laws and rules in this country, and we abide by them or pay the consequenses…so matey boy ( although having to pay any expenses himself) abides by the rules in Europe, but doesnt want to in the uk. The reason he thought he was being picked on was the fact there was other trucks also parked when he stopped ( amazed me when he showed photos of them ) but no doubt they too were foreigners. Yes i agree, open the doors, ask why theyve stopped, disturb their sleep, fine them and send them on their way…the more the better, maybe they will learn that you shouldnt park omn the hard shoulder, unless you have good reason its for EMERGENCIES ONLY.

Sometimes f…n’ stupid rules and laws… They can not park on the hard shoulder, because of the laws and regulations… But nothing forbide the idiots driing without lights in fog, or heavy rain… aLSO, HOW MANY PLACES ARE AROUND THE GODDAMNED m25 WHERE YOU CAN PARK UP SAFELY■■?

Not enough for the amount of lorrys that need parking but the Brits are in the same boat. Amount of eastern euro motors that used to park in the oversize bay at the roundabout on the 25 at Thurrock and reverse out in to the traffic. Should be dragged from the cab and have there hands and feet chopped off so they can never drive again.

Slightly different circumstances perhaps but a few weeks back a van caught fire in the tunnel just after the A10, and with another accident on the A1, traffic was backed up all the way to the M1. I counted no less than 12 trucks parked up on the hard shoulder between 24 and 25 during my slow trudge round. The usual suspects were there of course, a couple of Turks, an Irish etc. What I found interesting was that 5 of them were British registered.

I’m relatively sure the thing to do in that situation is to go over time if you have to, then write a manual entry on the printout and if questioned explain you were caught up in that cluster [zb] of fun. If anything else had needed to get through, i.e an ambulance, the minutes lost having to weave through stop-start traffic and an artic every 100 yards on the hard shoulder could make all the difference. You sort of expect it from the foreign guys, as the video above shows it’s quite a common thing across the water but I was suprised at the British ones.

Maybe the risk of taking a cheeky 45 on the hard shoulder so you can continue unhindered after the traffic gets moving properly seemed the better option?

The practice of doing a printout or writing on the back of the card is all well and good in the UK show that to a gendarme or a red cap and they will laugh at you. Alot of the gendarmes do not even recognise VOSA as they are not part of the police have shown gendarmes vosa paperwork and been told it’s worthless

Neither in France, nor in Germany the authorities will acceot this, it works in the UK only.

Complete and utter [zb]s :unamused: :unamused:

I’ve never had a problem nor know of anyone who has with a tacho under those circumstances. Even by the good old Guardia Civil. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

mmm maybe you haven’t experienced it but in my case was pulled at Bamber Bridge and given the all clear and VOSA printout to say i was a good boy, following Thursday pulled at Roye showed the gendarme the sheet he said that meand nothing, then proceeded to fine me 135 euro for an alleged offence 2 weeks prior 10 minutes over my time when shunting off a boat. Spoke to VOSA about it a couple of weeks later and they said i shouldn’t have been fined. Maybe i was just unlucky and met the only non anglophile gendarme or maybe his coffee fund was short that month :frowning:

Did that nice VOSA man give you a form or indicate in any way how you could go about appealing against the fine?

Just because the Vostapo chose not to do you, remember they give and take a bit on digi hours, does not mean there wasn’t an offence. A nice printout or signature from them is not a free pass. It may be recognised by other Vostapo as such but not other countries.
Before now I’ve been pulled at La Jonquera and then again over the hill at the French Peage    and the French don’t care, although they do tend not to look too hard in these circumstances.
The other way round I was stopped at the middle peage on the forest road years ago and given a quick check, tacho signed all clear. I then got relieved of 220 quid at the border by the Cherry Berries for something I’d blagged past the Frogs

the gendarme said i was 10 mins over my 9, i had arrived at fleetwood docks on 8hrs and 55 5 mins movement onto the boat and then 10 min shunt off on the other side.Vosa said no offence committed due to it being a legit movement and was not part of my daily work. But my main point is that had i been done by VOSA with the frenchman ignoring the VOSA form as in his eyes they are not legit i could have been fined for the same offence twice. The laws may all originate frim Brussels yet each country interperets them to suit themselves

Further to the alleged offence the French said i had committed saw an article today from the Scottish branch of the RHA which stated that any movement carried out getting on and off of ferrys the drive time is not to be counted against the days driving but will be added to your fornightly driving so the french had 135 euro for their coffee fund
