My point about truck drivers not speaking the language works both ways.
What about all the British drivers who camped all over Europe for weeks on end?
Calais, 50 or 60 trucks on ferrymaster work Akesters, John Raymond doing trailer changes from Oostende etc
Zeebrugge, Bulkhaul drivers, Norman Lewis drivers, Neill and Brown, Curries, Archbold, Brittania. Mat Transport and Bowkers, not to mention all the muppet drivers. amounting to maybe 75 or 80 trucks
Ludwigshaven. 20 or 30 English drivers working out of BASF for weeks on end
Meer, Van Wingene, Breda Transport. Gentenaar. Bertschi all foreign trucks with UK drivers
Le Havre and Cherbourg, all the trucks running Spain port to port with no tax and using red diesel.
Hardly any of these drivers spoke any extra languages, in fact the wierdsiders from Bulkhaul didnt even speak english.
Most of these drivers and companies were taking work from the French, German, Dutch and Belgian drivers. They were tolerated but they were earning less than the locals.
I just wonder why all of a sudden a few Slipperys come to the UK to earn decent money, we are all up in arms.
Without Asians, we wouldnt have corner shops! Without Turkey we wouldnt be able to eat Kebabs after 12 pints of lager. Without Indians we would not have curry houses. The chinese have come in handy too to feed us after the pubs close too.
