Fog Lights on in the Day Time

FFS WHY■■?
seen loads of trucks up & down with their side lights & fog light on & it seems to be mostly scania drivers,is it a rule they have in their handbook that if you drive 1 fitted with fog lights you must use them all the time :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:
bad enough them being on in the daytime, but most of them also seem to have 1 light aiming upwards, like a searchlight & not on the road,so all they do at night when there on,is blind everyone coming towards them :imp:

The people who put their fog lights on when it’s sunny should also use their wipers when it’s dry, It’s the same logic when you think about it.

Its also illegal to use fog lights unless the visibility is less than 100mtr.

It’s a well know universal code, I’m surprised you’ve not heard of it.

It signifies that the driver has a very small ■■■■■ and as a result has to compensate in other ways.

Chavs drive trucks too it seems
I see it and know there is a knob jockey behind the wheel…

Ive seen a few with side lights + fog lights in the night. Looks very weird and not good for the eyes. One was a taxi driver i think. Saying that they seem to go flying around like they have a law for themselfs at times around here :unamused:
Talking about lights that blind you there is a set of traffic lights and when i go through and its dark they shine like mad. I end up with a green blur. For anyone that goes that way, its the traffic lights before the bridge on the A611 just past wood lane. Brightest green lights ive seen on traffic lights

And the more they protest it isn’t true and it’s all to do with visibility, the smaller the ■■■■■. There’s been studies don’t you know. :stuck_out_tongue:

Are you sure they are fog lights? If they are they should only be able to be illuminated when dipped headlights are on.If they can be switched on with sidelights then they are classed as driving lights which is not illegal.
Same problem with their ■■■■■ though.

Going by the angle and them being low down they dont seem like driving lights to me. Could be wrong though.
Going by the states of some peoples cars though it wouldnt surprise me if their dipped lights have blown but its fine when they have their foglights on.

Could be wrong though, never been able to ask them

Having driving lights that come on with sidelights is illegal
They are only allowed to come on with main beam :bulb:

We have discussed this before, however it’s worth going over again, have you ever used them when the fog is down? I have and they do absolutely bugger all. Please tell me what they do any other time.

An extra pair of high beam lamps in the roof spoiler like on the newer Daf’s would be better

If you are thinking about driving around with them on STOP NOW.

The next thing you know the curtains will be half drawn (frilly) sunglasses in the rain and the latest trend with the yoof, driving with the seat on the floor.

Agree, especially now with the LED ones, they are very bright in the dark. Why don’t they dim them at night - only requires a dusk-dawn sensor to detect when to dim.

In the 70’s my Dad had a car (Austin 1800) built in 1971, when you put the side lights on, the indicators were dimmed. Wonder what happened to that idea?

If these lights are being used at night on a Scania then its because the normal headlights are so crap at night. They must be the worst on any big wheeler… :imp:

Let me tell you what happened to good British ideas, we joined the common market A.K.A the E.U thats what happened.

yeah,i’ve been in every wagon where i’ve seen fog lights used & you only need to put sidelights on & then turn on the fog light button/switch to put them on,it’s not like you can turn them on by accident, you have to push a button in a scania, turn a knob in a renault, push the light button on a volvo etc, then you get a little light on TELLING you that your fog lights are on,so it’s not like you can miss the fact that you’ve got them on.but as long as they look cool :unamused: :unamused: driving down the road, blindin everyone else, there not bothered :imp:
they should all be linked together on 1 button that will also put the rear fogs on as well as the front & you have to have your dipped lights as well, will stop everyone using them, unless they need to,like when it’s FOGGY!!! :unamused:

Well I’ve been running with my lights on day and night for over a decade now, since I first went to Norway and decided it was a good idea. I started using the fogs during the day as I was using headlight bulbs at an impressive rate and after reading in the Scania handbook that they are duel purpose fog/daytime running lights. Wait till next year, or is it year after, when it becomes law for new vehicles to have daytime running lights, plenty for you to moan about then.

Oh and I’m perfectly happy with the size of my ■■■■■ thank you.
