There`s much denigration on these here boards towards our continental friends who happen to wear comfortable shoes for the purposes of driving and I was just wondering if they look at us lot clodding about in steel toecapped pit hoggers and having a well justified laugh at us.
Ive decided, as from tomorrow, to wear a pair of comfy shoes for work, (not flip flops though), and keep my heavy armour plated boots for when its really necessary. Im moving containers this week and am unconcerned about the possibility of one falling on my toes. I have decided that I`m a safer driver in proper shoes especially in the car going to and from.
I`ll see how long it takes for someone to have a pop.
What about the fellas who caffuffle about taking their shoes off the drive i just socks,usually with no shoes allowed sticker on the door,trainers or slippers for long drives is ok but bare feet must be painfull on the feet
Any longer than a short journey and my boots come off and I drive in my socks (not just socks obviously), after all our feet don’t have a lot to do driving modern stuff do they?
We get a choice of steel toe boots/trainers/shoes. The only time I ever took them off to drive there was an accident in front of me on the motorway and instead of just getting out to help I had to faff about doing my laces up again.
I always take mine off if I am stopping for more than 5 minutes.
Makes me laugh when the foreign blokes stroll round a yard with flip flopsflops ,mucky flowery swimshorts ,hivis vest and a ■■■ in the mouth,then the shunter spots them and trys to tell them the error of their ways,lots of finger wagging ,arm waving and gets nowhere

I’ve just started driving in just socks lol no stickers though ! Used to wear trainers to drive and a place we go was pretty crap/dirty so started wearing me boots and was sick of it getting dirty smelling of crap so leave them on the step now only takes 2 seconds to take off and put back on and feet keep nice and cool/warm with the fans on !
ive never driven in steel caps boots or shoes, i always have them in the locker, but drive in trainers, wife says im strange anyway as i do allow shoes in the passenger side, shoe are for the drivers footwell only and now where else
Steel cap boots, loading and unloading, Crocs or bare feet for driving. boots live behind drivers seat for easy access when needed. Crocs also go in shower at the end of a days work so always good as new.
steel toes always in the side locker Super Hamptons or flip flops for driving depending on the weather
