Truckbling:
Indicating before changing lanes is in the highway code whereas flashing in anything that passes you isn’t.
Unnecessary indication will see you fail your advanced driving test. However I don’t foresee you having to worry about that.
Are we talking about the advanced driving test? no. It will see you fail your LGV test if you fail to indicate your intention to change position in the road though but as usual lets not let the facts get in the way of increasing your post count.
Just my opinion like, but I’ve always thought anybody who feels the need to take an advanced driving test is a bit insecure, I have passed my standard test I don’t need a piece of paper to hang on the khazi wall to tell me I’m a better driver than anybody else. (or not as the case may be)
As for getting a thank you? I couldn’t really give a flying [zb], as long as the over taking truck does not cut in on me too early,… now that really does press my buttons big style (I know I’ve never mentioned that before on here )
Your opinion is not quite right I am afraid. Most drivers take the advanced test because they want to improve their driving and gain more knowledge.
The basic test is exactly what it says. Very basic and most drivers that pass it go do not bother to learn any further as well as getting into bad driving habits. I think you will find most who have gone through the advanced test tend to better drivers overall.

When we got monitoring systems for driving standards fitted in our new motors, one of the drivers who (often ) mentions he is trained to ‘Superstar standard’ was talking to the owner of the firm. The owner was explaining how he wanted them driven, to acheive maximum benefits, Supertrucker puts his hand on boss’ shoulder saying something like ‘Don’t worry, I know these things, I’m an advanced driver’ (cringe cringe)
Anyway, we have a weekly league table/ leader board stuck on the wall…he never gets in the top 10
I will not be so conceited or boastful to disclose where I come on the board as a ‘‘bog standard Class 1 driver’’.

Nah, Don’t think it’s necessary to provide pictorial proof of driving performance table,… or for that matter take an advanced driving course…I aint THAT insecure
