Flashing drivers in

Okay so just wondering everyone else’s view here. Something that really annoys me is other drivers pulling in too early and not waiting for me to flash them in. Some people nearly side swipe me. Whereas, other drivers just pull in too close and I’m left blind not seeing anything except his back door. Very occasionally I get drivers waiting for me to flash them but when drivers do this it is very much appreciated. Sorry for the rant haha

I agree it’s common courtesy to wait for the flash even though you know where your back doors are as some drivers including myself feel ill at ease when someone pulls in too close.

Standards in general just aint what they used to be!

People just don’t care anymore!

What if you don’t get a flash? Do you just stay out in the overtaking lane as not to upset the other driver?

This has been done to death mate :unamused:
Ok, I do agree with you, but you end up getting a 10 page thread when the smartarses who don’t flash you, coming out with the classic…‘‘You should not be driving a truck if you NEED flashed in or the .’‘I don’ t need flashed me as I know exactly where my back doors are’’ :unamused: … stupidly not realising that we ALL do, and none of us NEED it, but it is more of a space awareness thing letting the driver know you are comfortable with the space he has left rather than him taiking your ■■■■ front grille off. :smiling_imp:
It is also known as courteous driving. :bulb:
It has worked for generations, I don’t give a ■■■■ if you do not flash me, just don’t ■■■■ cut in on me. :bulb:

So I reckon that just about covers it. :sunglasses:

No not really, I even edited it to make it sound better, but you were too quick for me.

I was tempted to search the forums but thought I’d do my first thread instead  but nice to know there are nice drivers still out there!

Sorry mate, didn’t mean to shoot you down on your first post.
Welcome to Trucknet,… btw there are also a few d.head drivers on here unfortunately, …you decide who is who.

I count a few beats before I flash someone in as they make me nervous when they come in too early. Does anyone else do this or am I just being a wussy girlie?

Oh dear I hope your not serious?

It’s just common sense to flash someone in if it’s safe to do so if you are kind enough that is.

What bugs me more is when people don’t wiggle their indicators to thank me. Especially so if I’ve dropped the cc down a couple of clicks to avoid a 10 mile long elephant race. Grr!

Remember the 4 seconds rule in good driving conditions.

If it’s clear someone has slowed down a little I like to give an extended indicator light show.

Like you I can feel ■■■■■■ off if they don’t acknowledge you.

For some reason, with me,it’s tanker drivers of any description…in all my years of driving,I have NEVER had any sort of acknowledgement from them, particularly when changing lane to let them on to a motorway :unamused:
Now,I’m often tempted to stand my ground and ■■■■ 'em,thing is,I don’t want to play Chicken with 30/40 tonnes of highly flammable stuff :open_mouth:

Always have and always will let someone know it’s safe to pull in. Learnt that years ago, just manners and a respect for your fellow driver.
Like others, I do get annoyed when there’s no thank you. Like the hand up from an oncoming driver you’ve let through. Silly, but it ■■■■■ me right off.

■■■■, I read ‘flashing drivers’ and got disappointed again !!
