Flaming Morrisons...again and again

Winseer:
No, my position was merely missing what looked like the customer car park entrance, and having gone straight on at the roundabout, then finding myself in an inescapable 7.5t one way street through the old high street before coming out on the far side of the town by-pass, so I could circle back on the link road and make a second approach. Corrected it all ok, only wasted 5 minutes, etc. BUT… that nagging worry that someone is going to say “Hey, that shop is outside the 7.5t zone, so WTF is he doing driving up past Ye Olde Shoppe up the fairly narrow high street?”

It’s very much a one-off ■■■■ up as far as I’m concerned.

Bloody hell - don’t worry about that, you’ll be fine! I’ll eat both our hats (mine’s a top hat!) if not. . . .

Come to think of it, I’ve caused more carnage - quite literally - in a similar scenario (several!), where I have accidentally pulled into the car park thinking it to be either the service yard access, or leading to such through the car park. One situation ended in an AMG Mercedes having it’s rear end intertwined with the rear end of a tri-axle. . . Best to be safe than sorry, and ending up accidentally traversing the local 7.5 ton limit is safer than sorry!

I once turned into a car park by mistake in the middle of the night, so was able to swing around across the park lanes because the place was empty, to get out again. I would have been in serious ■■■■ had the place been packed, so I’ve been a bit paranoid about turning into what looks like a car park ever since… Hence the error this time around with “carrying on” only to find the 7.5t sign, and no way to spin around in a narrowing road about to run up the old towne high street…

Thanks for the vote of confidence with regards to hats though. I’m more “high hat” as I’m often kept at arms length, and whacked with a stick every now and then, but usually quite happy to rattle off on my own! :stuck_out_tongue:
