I agree with this, I recall Switchlogic saying somewhere that when he got the volvo 750 at Virginia some drivers stopped talking to him/blanked him [emoji38] [emoji38] [emoji38]750 as opposed to what? 650? I thought Irish hauliers used a lot of FH16s and V8s.

As opposed to R500’s at the time. It was the first flagship Virginia ever had. And some drivers still wouldn’t talk or wave to me on the road right up until I stopped driving it.

Our place always has one “star motor” kicking about. It’s nothing special as a rule, it does wear a private plate, but Volvo paid for that about 10 years ago.
We had a celebratory 25th Volvo, then a 50th, then when we switched to MAN the plate went onto numbers 50 and 100.
It’s always kept immaculate, for 2 reasons, Dave who drives it has been there since Adam was a lad, and secondly, it gets used for all the publicity shots the company have done.
Quite ironic though as when Dave got the plate and the special paint job, everyone else got a Globetrotter XL with a fridge and microwave, and he just got a bog standard motor.
