first night out

As the title suggests Im doing my first night out tomorrow.

not 100% sure where ill be for the night but the run im doing but i know ill be in the Melton Mowbray / rugby area

any tips on things to do/ not do?

Don’t park in a layby wich is’nt set back from the road…You’ll be rocking about for most of the night…So might not get a good kip.

make sure your fuel cap is locked , also cab
Don’t forget to turn lights off

I have nighted out in Melton Mowbray fella. There is a cracking little industrial estate just near KFC!

Make sure you have a bottle handy for when you wake up at 2am needing a ■■■■■ I tend to use one with a wide neck.

(Not suggesting you don’t!!!). Late edit; There is a Co-op there too, KFC and Co-op are quite literally a 2 min walk away from the ind est.

You’re better off leaving the fuel cap unlocked as it makes more of a mess when they smash it off :imp: :imp:

im 25 so dont worry i can manage a full night without having to ■■■■. really appreciate the tips. thanks guys

Same here, the road is snow hill, although from memory when you get to the top road bears left and its no overnight hgv parking there.

^^^^ if you can get in early enough you can blag a spot behind Halfords. Room for six or so arctics down there. 5 min walk to Morissons/pubs/eateries.

Too true ,and if it’s a Daf just turn the stack pipe fitting a little and bingo .

Don’t fall into the trap of being a stereotypical minger tramper. Park yourself in a Truckstop or services, get a shower, protect your load and diesel. The east mids is bandit country. If your boss won’t pay your parking, make it your last night out for him

J22 on M1 is a BP
Truck Stop between M1 J18 and M6 J2 on A5
Trucker Cafe between J23A and J24 next to M1 open 24 Hour.
Can recommend all 3

Christ Maoster… I really thought that was a super secret special Beaver spot.

Seems like the world and his wife know about it.
