Just P.M.d you. Hope it helps.
This sent a shiver down mi spine. …Only kidding.
Just lifted this off Bubb’s Scrapbook thread, (thanks again Marc). Wonder if it is on Allman’s yard. Probably before the Maroon phase!
Brought this back for WILLENHALL, save him trawling, anyway it won’t hurt to freshen it up!
A couple of pics. 3300john put on ‘Fans of Foden’ thread. I would think the Eaton’s one has been restored, but it could have come straight out of the yard for a days work, as they always looked like that.

i remember Horace “greedy board” Kendrick very well, and also another one from Walsall called Oscar W Johnson, both with Foddens and running endlessly out of South Wales back to the Midlands loaded with coke.I reckon Oscar bought his tippers from Horace.
Hi big g I lived in Walsall (Pleck) in the mid seventies, I was on the buses at the time but a lot of my mates were in haulage. I remember nearly all the firms you mention , what about Salts in rolling mill st. had ascrap yard but did bulker work with Fodens as well, simular colour to Kendricks I think .Also i dont think anybodys mentioned Hayes of Darlaston ,still going i think. When Kendricks first started getting the new Fodens I remember thinking what a wonderfull wagon they must be , years later i was driving one with a180 Gardner and that weird gearbox where you changed into high range but you were in alower gear !
Chris Webb: Yeah same sort of motors except Oscar’s were grey & blue, I think.
marathon 1975: Great pictures mate, love the Squire’s ones, takes me back a bit.
JFC 999: Yeah, remember Salts scrapyard, a family firm, if I am remembering correctly.
Now, moving out of Walsall, just up the A5 to Cannock and I think these had a yard there that I pulled out of a few time. Don’t know if they had anywhere else though 'cos it looks like the driver was a Cradley Heath Speedway fan by the name on the windscreen.
Pic. from Bubb’s scrapbook thread.
That’s right big g,Oscar was a grey and blue under all the crap
Is T.Baker still going, they used to be in District Iron and Steel down Brasshouse Lane in the 60s?
Thanks to NZ JAMIE who posted this sister wagon of A.E.Hawkins on the"Scrapbook Thread". I can see by this one they were based in Kingswinford! so I think I may be getting confused with Hawkins Tiles at Cannock and were probably a different firm altogether!
Unless anyone knows different!

yes ,think i seen you cus i came back a few times ,the last time was on the scrap tippers for emr ,big changes in the firm though ,.we really had a great time in the 80s ,i started on the b+i line contract cus they needed drivers that didnt pay a lot of attention to the rules iand a few more came from peter taylors ,me, pretty boy pancho ,phil stokes, was phil who got me in ,then i went on norfolk line ,then the norbert dent contract ,and then tony sayce asked me to go on tanks ,which was very unusual for anybody under 40 ,but i loved it and they started putting more younger blokes on tanks of the containers and the tilt jobs ,.went from jones,s to kevin bradley (roadway international) on italy another great job ,.reckon i was there on an of between 83/95 ,but if you know any of us from that era we had to much drinking time and it adles your brain ,didnt know many peoples real names cus everybody was given a nick name in them days ,mine was poacher given to me by ,the whinging pom ,aka phil, cus he wanted to go to a bbq on the weekend and paul robinson asked me to take his truk to spain ,i was waitin to get on the tanks so i went when i came bak everybody called me the poacher,.
