firm closes

The advert for Kent Connection is new today! Someones got the smelly end of the stick either way!!!

this is the advert jobseekers.direct.gov.uk/detailj … =BLS/20580

mind While lookin for a job ,I cant remember seeing this one, just when I saw the date

The ad has been on for ages they were always advertising for drivers as they come and go quicker than a whores g-string.

As a sidenote, we can fill our own cars in the yard and pay the same bulk prices as the company. They just invoice us and take it out of our wages.

Another big firms guna it the wall on monday aswell.I got told to empty my cab out when i got back from swiss this week. :frowning: :frowning:

A very big and long-established London firm are going to go bust in the next week or two, so the rumour mill tells me…

We’re all doomed, DOOMED, I tells thee. Tough luck about losing your job Daniel, I bet running Swiss was enjoyable. Eddie has a chilled depot near you I believe, might be worth a try, not Europe I know but would pay the bills.

New Today ■■? Should of gone to specsavers

A number of posts naming two companies have had to be removed from this thread. I am not saying there is no truth in these particular rumours, However as yet we have no proof.

In the past rumours like this have been found to be unfounded and have led to the possibiilty of legal action against us.

The rules are quite clear until you can post proof, (my mate told me, I overheard two drivers on the ferry talking about it, my boss said, your aunt Rosies parrot repeated etc) is not proof.

If you have heard rumours, PM me and I will get our editorial team to make enquiries

do not name companies unless you can show absolute proof.

OK, but…

The last few weeks of December proved bleak for a number of hauliers, with liquidators being appointed to seven firms.

Derbyshire-based SHL Logistics, a UK Pallets member, is the latest casualty, and called in Paul Stanley and Dean Watson of Begbies Traynor as joint liquidators to the business on 23 December.

Less than a week earlier, creditors of Southampton firm Transport Resourcing, which had an O-licence for 28 vehicles and 36 trailers, elected Geoffrey Bouchier of MCR as company liquidator on 17 December.

On the same day, County Durham-based W E & I Wright, which ran a six-strong fleet, appointed John Harrisons and Kenneth Marland of Harrisons to wind down the business.

Elsewhere, Preston-based JD Hull Haulage appointed Mark Colman and John Titley of Leonard Curtis as joint liquidators to the business on 15 December.

A meeting of owners and creditors of Driffield, West Yorks haulier A R Fry on 14 December confirmed a move into liquidation, with insolvency practitioners Gareth Rusling and Andrew Wood of The P&A Partnership appointed to the business. The company operated six HGVs.

Meanwhile, on 13 December the following businesses entered liquidation: Notts-based Century Couriers with the appointment of Ian Rose of Silke & Co as liquidator; Leeds-based R ■■■■ Logistics, being wound up by David Adamson and Tim Askham of Mazars.

In addition, Dudley, West Midlands-based Palletways member DY Pallets Logistics ceased trading on 21 December, with a creditors meeting expected to take place on 5 January to appoint one or more liquidators to the company.

All of the above firms are yet to file their statement of affairs with Companies House.

All I can say is that I check the jobcentreplus web site on a daily basis, I only search for new vacancies posted that day and that job appeared in the search with that days date on the advert. Hence, thats why I (sounds a bit geordie  ) replied.

One was a question, the other a statement of fact - I presumed transport journalists were meant to inform the transport industry, not vice versa? :stuck_out_tongue:

I have probably posted about two dozen firms which have gone bust now and I have never once been wrong… TruckNet, which is “by drivers, for drivers” should be a bit less snotty about information it receives “from drivers”.

I am just itching to tell everybody about the HUGE firm which are going to go into administration next week- not least to save their subbies from any deeper problems- but I have been suitably warned off

Thanks roadrunner, at least the construction industry journos are on the ball then :unamused: Mystified about HM’s prediction though, can’t think who it is

that may be so Harry, but unfortuantly others have posted about companies which years later are still going strong and turning a profit…

More than one company that has been “outed” wrongly on here has had difficulties with their suppliers and customers after rumours with no foundation were posted.

If those rumours cause financial damage, guess who could be held responsible?

The rules are simple if it cant be substantiated rumours are removed until they can be
