I know I am gonna get some grief over that reply
Can’t see why, you drive in the US of A. There’s no pressure/legal requirement to move back over, undertaking is allowed (from what I remember) so different needs. Everytime I read a post from over the pond i get that little bit closer to moving!!!

Why don’t ya get a sticker for the rear of ya trailer saying, “I’m an ignorant [zb] so don’t flash” so we will all know!
Get a gsijay sticker made up for your nearside door too so we know you’re coming past.

And also so we can back off the cruise because just cos u think you’re past and its safe it doesn’t mean the driver you’ve just passed is comfortable with the the gap!

white atros double deck trailer well know parcel company !!! ok
as long as the other drivers intentions are clear as in indicating to pull back in I will flash them in. class 1, 2 or 7.5t, or will always flash in at night or harsh weather, a bit of courtesy will go long way on and off the road.
I will always flash a truck in when I am happy with their clearance. Only problem is that I rarely get the chance to flash them in as they have pulled into my braking zone before I am happy to flash.
I don’t mean almost cutting my nose of like some experiences, but I would be happier with just that few metres extra reaction time before I flash a rolling wall back in front of me than I am currently given.

This goes back many years when true professionals looked after each other. In those days before the rapid expansion of the motorway network we used the old trunk road network (A roads to you) and on two lane sections you needed to get back in as soon as possible in case of oncoming traffic so the flash in, especially at night with the poor mirrors fitted was the norm. Unfortunately today many of the younger end have no idea what so ever what many of the unwritten laws of the road are all about. I had a fine example of the other night on the M6 when a so called “if you cant tell that’s its ready to pull in you shouldn’t be driving” ■■■■ almost took my front off coming in before he had cleared forcing me on to the hard shoulder. They call this section of this website THE UK PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS FORUM. Well you could have fooled me by some of the threads and comments on here some so called professionals should hang their heads in shame.

It’s the other driver letting you know when he’s comfortable with you pulling in, as well as showing when you’re past.
I’ve ALWAYS flashed people in for that reason! REGARDLESS of what im driving at the time! Be it my car/bike/bus or class 2!
technically im only a young un but i fully understand that a little courtesy and assistance to others WILL help them in their day, and i fully believe in reaping what i sow!
Cheers

Here, here and same here from my end!
Keep showing respect and maybe one day, somewhere, they may return the favour one day to you…
yeah i always flash other trucks in when its safe , (if they havent pulled in already)
and if a car overtakes me and indicates when they are pulling in front of me
i flash them in too and they respond with hazards on for 2 seconds
and when i overtake i like to wait for a flash before pulling in
lots dont flash especially in the daytime
but what really p isses me of is the arrogant lorry drivers
who overtake , so i flash them to let them know its ok to pull in front of me
but they carry on a bit futher and then pull in front of you without indiacating at all
and if one is overtaking me slowly , i slow down to let them overtake
and then i flash and then 9 times out of ten they pull in front of you
without any indicator acknowledgent at all
i have one word for them and it rhymes with ignorant ships anchors

So many times I miss the OK flash because I don’t stare at the mirror waiting, I concentrate on the forward view. I do however always indicate.

Ditto… Moreso after getting done for careless driving because I was concentrating too much on my mirrors and rearended a car stopped in the carriageway. D’oh!
Is this bragging rights to how good someone is? I have only been driving hgv 3 years now, I know roughly when my back end is past but its nice to wait out for the comfort and safety of the driver you have just past. We are all doing the same job and we should look out for each other. I was pleased today someone stayed out while we went round a long bend on the M60, when I could see the road was clear after the bend I flashed him in. ( you never know with the m60/62 what lies round the corner.
It amazes me the short goods vehicles that think its ok to pull in like a car, still got an arse as big as an artic! (7.5t, Luton vans, rigids)
but i will say i thank everyone! If I did not see them flash i wait a while longer pull in then thank them. But if they never flashed me I thank them still ( thanks for not flashing me in lol)
