Ive never ever heard of a company supplying sunglasses or sun screen or water. Suitable clothing is also a bit hit or miss!

Our place give us bottles of water and fruit every morning.
Only downside is won’t let us wear shorts,health and safety allegedly.

They dont even supply it in a nursery, you have to send it with the kid. why the hell would they supply it grown men/women at a place of work.

I’ve got both 
One driver i worked with had ‘heat exhaustion’ and had to be rushed into hospital. This was a few years back ,but ,the company fair play to them ,went ballistic,with health and safety,Land and Marine ,the same week ,i was issued with summer clothing (light cotton tops and shorts), sunblock,sunglasses(2 pairs),and every morning there was a pallet of water next to the clocking in machine ,and we were all told take as much as you want.
It,s just common sense really ,company,s don,t want bad publicity or a claim against them! Costing them thousands of pounds!

You blokes ain’t tough enough to be lorry drivers. Open the window, no lorry years ago had all these mod cons that you have these days, plus the cabs were more cramped with the engine in the middle. Nobody moaned we just got on with the job.

I can’t remember anyone moaning, it was part of the job, just as a lot of lorries didn’t have a heater in the cab in the late 1960’s.
A decade later would have seen"everybody out"

Probably got electric windows and an Aldi coolbox 
My air con’s on the blink; If outside temperature rises above about 18c so does the air coming from the vents. I don’t know if it’s a Daf thing but out of the three cfs I’ve had as regular motors, none have had great air con. The MAN I had had duff air con too.

Somebody - an adult - got heat exhaustion and it’s the company’s fault for not giving him water?? Presumably a member of H&S would accompany a driver all day to make sure s/he actually drank it? I hope so, or the company could definitely be held responsible… I’d demand s/he have an I.V. tube fitted and regular brow mopping, and perhaps some soothing whale music…
