Jack-knife:
The 1 which takes me home
Other than that A1 North of Berwick
Yes I do like that as well - we run down from Scotland to Durham and its an enjoyable run - I do like the bit just south of Berwick on Tweed looking out over Holy Island.

The A702 from Carronbridge to Elvanfootnot suitable for trucks if I remember from the signs in Carron bridge.
Must be a different road to when I used it, driving artic, and I’ve seen others along there,… definitely not for your average plobber.
Try the B740 from Crawford to Sanquer.

One of my regulars used to be the A43 from Chambery in France to Turin. Stunning scenery. Also A9 around Perpignan.
Would have loved to have done a lot more euro work - the French Italian border area looks great . Seen pics of roads that run threw tunnels out onto bridges on stilts and back into tunnels again -looks brilliant

The hairpin type bend in Carron bridge coming down the A76 threw me off it but on closer inspection you can use a road further north to cut that corner out so I’ll remember it for future use.
I’d come from carsphairn on the 729 to monavie not miether but you have to stop if you meet owt ,definitely if you meat owt nice anyway
A83 to Campbelltown stunning scenery cheers Ray

I do envy the timber wagon lads and some of the scenery they must get to see - would be a great job in the summer , not so sure how much fun it would be in the winter in the forests .

An area thats hard to get loads either into or out of but the lads in the office know my names all over one if they do .lol Same with loads going North of Inverness
Yes Forbes fh540 W&d do for me
A1 after Morpeth all the way up though Northumberland and Borders, like the scenery and how the railway switches between sides every few mile.
A17 across to Kings Lynn from Newark.
M6 after Lancaster all the way up though ■■■■■■■■
A66 is a nice run from Scotch Corner to Penrith if you’ve not got much weight on and not slowing anyone down otherwise it’s a pain in arse
Yorkielad got to agree with you about the m6 cheers Ray
not so much scenic but would give you one hell of a thrill, going DOWN sutton bank in paddy’s overdrive
Llangurig to Aberaeron via Aberystwyth.
Taken at Aberaeron Harbour, before heading inland
love aberaron, did you try the chippy there, bostin also the bakery on the main road…
Not tried the chippy.
But can recommend an over nighter in the monachty pub.
A458 cutting over the high roads from Welshpool to Dolgellau and from there on up to Porthmadog, used to run that way often on transporters, could be hair raising in the winter.
Used to be some great drives in much of England years ago, but since they concreted over vast swathes of the country the roads that were once quiet and open are now chock a bloc with vehicles and there’s now a junction every few miles.

Early starts on Sunday are strictly not happening

Anyone who can be arsed drive on google down cross lane between waddington and brashall eves in lancs I’ve been down that in my lorry n trailer if wasn’t for the lift axle I’d have been on YouTube in the same class as the murderers
I’m surprised you got down there. It must have been autumn/winter time when there’s no foliage as it’s completely impassable in a truck in the spring/summer from the Bashall end. I speak from experience as we used to do a farm down there and could only get in from Waddy end. We were glad to see the back of it as the branches used to wreck the paintwork and mirrors with scratches. We’ve got another one up near Newton-in-Bowland which is also inaccessible in the summer for the same reason.
It was the June 6 th , not a dark moon
I was following instructions from the AA Lancashire map
I stopped at the house after the bridge to ask the way ,the man was laughing
