Thisll get me some grief! Always liked the Jota 180
s even if they were about as reliable as a T140v bonnie. Not blessed with a 6 foot inside leg measurement, I couldn`t get on (literally) with them. Liked the 1200 Mirage too. And the 500 Gamma. Guess I was a glutton for punishment. As I rapidly approach the second phase of the male menopause, I keep chewing about an R1, but not too confident that my 55yr old shoulders could hack it. Might go for a torquey twin pot trials instead.

I remember them, way out of my price range, I remember me & my mates were walking along Douglas Seafront during the TT week back around 1979/80 & we saw a Jota loose it in the wet on the tram lines, poor sod (I bet that was expensive)
Same year we had 2 MV Agusta’s leave us for dust on the mountain on Mad Sunday. Lol.
Them Pesky Italians.
xjr 1300 it gives you a bit of everything.

My mate loves 'em,
secretly I like them, more power than the Bandit, but I’ve taken the ■■■■ out of his Yamaha’s for too long so if I get one, I will never hear the end of it. Lol.
Thought I might dig the ol` borat mankini out, and trundle off to the ace cafe on this bad boy.

Radical. Wtf is it?
My one, its a gixxer 600 SRAD '98. Good little tool, I’ve street fightered/stunted it, so big rear sprocket, renthal high rise bars, big brakes, also has a thumb brake aswell. It’s street legal. Also got a little 1970’s scoot that I’m restoring.

Called the RYNO - It was “born” when the guy`s daughter asked him to build a full-size working version of a ride she saw in a video game. Leccy powered, obviously, and massively impressive stats - 10mph top whack & 10ml range!! $5300 to you, sir!!
Just a segway on steroids really.
Edit : Seen a snippet elsewhere claiming a 15mph top speed - must be the supersport!
In that case I’ll have two then . Tbh I thought it was maybe a prop from “Tron” or other such movie.
I’d like one as a toy though.
It’s the XJR 1300 for me had mine for six years and did over 60,000 miles on it.
£535,000 for this pile of ■■■■. If thats the best thing they can come up with on a "budget" of over half a million, they should really just lock up and go home. Made by a Danish outfit. I know everything
s expensive there, but really…
surely has to be Fissie or C50
Or how about this little folly?? 48 cylinders!!
For me it has to be any V2 as they are so tractable, that is unless I can get a roadgoing Honda Six or a TZ 350

i always wanted an RG500 suzuki …mmmmmm… on tickover though they sound like four broken thermos flasks being shaken very quickly lol!!
RG400 - same noises especially with race pipes on

Back when I was still single, I had a four year old Laverda Jota with a full sports fairing on it (POU 345S, where is it now?). It was awful round town, as first gear was so high and the clutch was like a wrist exerciser, but get it on a decent road out of town and it was MAGIC! The sound from the Lanfranconi silencers when giving it a handful was music to my ears, and it handled like a dream. The only problem I had was when stationary as it was a tall bike and I have fairly short legs, so had to stop near kerbs if at all possible to avoid sphincter puckering moments as they are heavy bikes.
Unfortunately I ended up with a slipped disc and couldn’t ride it any more owing to the riding position and it had to go in favour of a 1979 Moto Guzzi 850 T3 Californian (UHT 507T). Although a totally different type of bike and riding position (like an armchair), once I adapted to it I found that the handling was very good and although you didn’t seem to be going that fast you could still put in very respectable journey times. Now both of these bikes fetch stupid money if in good condition, I wish I had kept them, what price 20/20 hindsight eh?
Back in 83 Honda brought out the CB1100FD, it was for sale in just about every country except the UK, but I read a few reports and seriously lusted after 1 as it seemed to be a much better and more powerful version of the CB900FC I was smoking around on at the time.
Fast forward 30 years (a long time without a bike) and I finally achieved my dream last year with this one.
It’s an import from Canada.
Only trouble is I also found a Belgium model for sale shortly after, and that’s now in my garage too.
I could have spent far less and got something new that would do absolutely everything loads better than this does, but I have to say the dream lived up to expectations for me, I totally love them.
The only slight drawback with running an old bike like this is the attention they get, I’ve even been approached while stopped at traffic lights to chat about it.
But please please don’t show me any others as I can’t seem to stop buying them and I’m running out of garage space !!!
