Was on my speeding awareness course today, 4 hrs of looking at my watch for most of it. Then the only interesting part of it was a questionnaire about speed limits. Easy I thought, Iv’e got this. Well how embarrassing, I got every question wrong with regards a car pulling a caravan, well I don’t have a caravan or a car trailer so assumed normal speed limits would be appropriate. 30. 60, 70 mph sounded right to me. Just shows really how much of the highway code I didn’t really know and it wasn’t just me either. We get so hung up over driver hours, WTD etc, etc. You forget the other stuff about car driving. I daresay there will be a few on here who would get them wrong too!!
Hello UKt yep I am sure most would. An awful lot of so called professional drivers have a very poor knowledge of the correct rules of the road but they very quickly jump down car drivers throats as soon as they do something wrong.
They crack me up on here UKt. You, like me get mostly ignored because we are supposed trolls. The more likely scenario is they don’t like hearing the truth.
Twice recently I have corrected a couple of posters on their stupidity but strangely enough you never hear back when that happens. They have an opinion but they don’t like it when you prove them wrong.
There a few really good knowledgeable posters on here including yourself but my goodness there are an awful lot of doughballs.
If there towing they come under the lower speed limit. Also most vans attract the lower speed limit aswell that’s why alot of the white van mafia get done for speeding.
Er well i suppose if you were going to tow a caravan with a certain vehicle, you’d brush up on the regs.
As it is you drive a car presumably when not at work and a lorry when you are at work, so what the hell point is there in spending time learning what speed limit applies to a car/caravan a milk float or a bloody pedestrian pushed lawn mower, when you have no intention of driving any of them, it’s utterly pointless.
If you wanted to be a copper you’d have joined the old bill, then you could move onto traffic (and be as popular as a dose of the clap with real coppers) and impress your captive audience.

Not that knowledgeable or he wouldn’t have had to go on a speed awareness course.

Nah that’s an observation issue.

Suppose so, it’s easy to miss the fact you’re on an urban dual carriageway.
Best ignore their thread completely, the first 2 posts are from the same person…Snr Troll bag himself,Hi Viz Joe will be along soon to back his other 2 accounts comments up.
Admin,It’s ok to delete this whole thread.
Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Surely any so called professional driver would know toeing vehicles have a 10mph lower speed limit on a national speed limit road?
The same as vans do unless it is a car derived van, and car derived means there is a car that the van is the basis of. So even a lot of small van drivers incorrectly think it is based on the weight of the vehicle which it isn’t.
A Ford Transit connect for example, people will think it is the same limits as a car but it isn’t as there is no car version of the connect. Corsa van fiesta van et al would be fine as it is derived from a car.
Come on Tramp a man of your talents should have known this surely?
As an aside when I did my speed awareness course a lot of the drivers though the 40mph for trucks was still in force on single carriageway roads, and were surprised to learn it was now 50mph. And when asked why the speed was upped I was the only one to know the answer. To stop muppet car drivers overtaking dangerously to get past slow vehicles, they all seemed genuinely shocked the limit was raised for a truck for their own safety and the risk of increased speed for tucks vs the increased danger of cars overtaking dangerously meant the limit was increased.
I actually enjoyed the course a bit, it makes you realise how much you forget after passing a test and also thought you a couple of things you didn’t know.
Everyday is a learning day after all no matter how long you have been driving.

Tell me how you deduce that? You are completely wrong and if admin care to check they will confirm we are not the same person.
Maybe they would be better deleting you completely as you do not seem to bring much to the table apart from insults.

Better brush up simcor as your first sentence is not quite correct!
Your last sentence however is spot on and a lot of drivers would benefit from realising this.

I always thought you were much smarter than that comment Luke. I am posting as any other poster with regards to not knowing as much about the highway code as I thought I knew. Been a few years since I last read that bible.

1979 I passed my test simcor, I shamefully admit that was probably the last time I read the highway code fully and in any real depth. Things have changed and I just sort of went along with the changes so I thought. I spent more time with regards hours etc rather than the rules of the road. I will be brushing up now.

Stop it. Just stop it. Just when I start to accept that you are real, and know as much as you told us, you ruin it all…
Now what am I to believe? ■■?
Sat here with my ‘combined offer’ before me, problem is you have 28 days from the date of notice to notify your intentions … now 34 so off to court I have to go … (maybe I can give the excuse that there are no letter boxes at sea

Lack of concentration on my behalf, my clean licence from 1979 I think speaks volumes with regards my speeding or rather lack of it. everyone does. It all depends on the severity and frequency as to whether it is classed as foolish or idiotic.
