ive recently found facebook to be pretty useful with some research im doing into the history of a couple of trucks from my past , ive found it more useful for that than what most folk use it for .
it has its uses and it has some interseting groups full to the brim with transport history . those that never got the hang of it , just like me , should give it another go . its worth a try if you’re into that kind of thing .
I find it is better than it used to be for sharing common interests. I am a member of several groups and have found some old friends, new photographs, lots of great information and a few naked ladies
I also find Twitter quite amusing in a conversation
thats the way i see it for me the timeline change made sense , ive tried it a few times over the years and never got on with it until the change .
I use Facebook a lot. Type skids in the search and it will bring me up. I use it to keep in touch with family, trucking friends and the many friends I have from time in the forces.
I use twitter also but very rarely tweet, its just a tool to keep abreast of news, sport and anything else that interests me. I occasionally tweet to interact with the radio stations on it as well.
My other half uses ■■■■ face, but i dont, cant see the attraction in it, not interested in it, never will be.
If i wana read BS, i come on here instead without creating a face ache account
I’m on it and have been for several years. One thing to remember as with all social network sites and the Internet in general is that anything you type leaves a footprint. If you don’t want some one to read it don’t post it. Simple. I find it a great way to keep in touch with old school friends, friends the other side if the world and family. It’s a convenient way to stay in touch with people that would only be a name from the past

As for leaving a footprint, type your user name and trucknet into google and it will bring up every post you have ever made.
My mums name comes up in ■■■■ loads of Google results as she’s actively involved in helping alzheimer’s sufferers and their familys. That includes my surname, it was abit bloody scary the first time I googled it.
I’m on Facebook & Twitter - as others have said, I find them better for shared interests, rather than the ‘Just going for dinner / a beer / a crap’ type of staus updates that you tend to get…
I’m on it,if I’m being honest I’m on it way to much,but it’s good to keep in touch with friends and family during the week when my life seems to be work and bed…plus I get to keep up with the antics of some of the Truckneters

I would, but with all this Jimmy Savile stuff going on, I’d be worried about being accused of kiddie-diddling.
I had a load off members off here on my Facebook but found some of them 2 faced and snidey, I’ve had a Facebook clearout and now those that are left are ones I like and trust.
