What are peoples’ opinions on stopping for extra breaks because the smokers stop for a ■■■?
I don’t smoke but when I see colleagues stopping to smoke at least twice a hour I park up for a coffee or just to stretch my legs. Why should I do extra work and get paid the same as them?

Why don’t you start smoking or stop moaning, you are not doing extra work, they are just doing less than you and probably not burning as much fuel!

If you’re jealous but don’t want to start smoking you could take a few minutes every now and then to stand behind your machine inhaling the exhaust fumes

I had to take a supervisor with me one night for an assesment, he didn’t smoke.
Told me that for the assesment I had to do everything “by the book”
OK, I said, at first services I pulled in and he asked why, “for me to have a smoke as I can’t smoke in the cab”
He got the message after the second stop when he realised at that rate we were not getting home that night.
If people want to smoke (away from me) that’s fine and if nobody bats an eyelid when I stop as often they do, again no worries.

To be fair we don’t all whinge about smokers
As a none smoker for over 20 years I couldn’t give a [zb] whether people smoke or not but unfortunately like many things in life a winging minority get the majority a bad reputation.

I think you should start to smoke the funny stuff Muckaway then you might chill out a little and stop whinging about everything and everybody,when you were driving tippers you moaned about shovel/digger drivers,now you drive a shovel you moan about truck drivers,and now you’re moaning about smokers,what on earth will be next! 
You need to take a year out and go travel the world,maybe then stupid little things wont bother you so much

If fish bit like you lot I’d take up angling
I’m the only non smoker in our place , if I stand around chatting or stop & have a cuppa then I’m regarded as skiving & taking the ■■■■, stick a ■■■ in my hand & its all ok , I’ve got nothing against smokers, smoke if you want but its annoying to be regarded as not pulling your weight if you stop for five minutes without a ■■■, and ■■■ breaks in our place can be upwards of twenty minutes and very frequent…so in that respect yes I do feel I’m expected to do more …
If I want to stop for a few minutes, I’ll stop (assuming safe to do so, natch…). There is no need to justify it, nor do I feel under any pressure to press on until I am legally obliged to take a 15/30/45 minute statutory break. If I was a smoker, I’d probably take the opportunity to spark up. But as I’m not, I don’t. If I think I’ll be stopping for 15 minutes I might even put the tacho on break.

I’ve discovered on this forum, that I can upset many people by asking a question or asking for an opinion. Search the thread "why bs a tipper? That got a few responses.
I’m with the OP it’s not a moan its a simple question that appears to be only getting a reaction from the smokers. Now who should chill out?

it comes with the licence 
Question the actions of people addicted to any drug and they get snappy, and then accuse others of moaning… 
.
The reactions here are whilst they are still under the influence, they must be fun to be around should the drugs run out.
They need to take lots of breaks, they’ll be missing ten or more years and ill for another ten so trying to make up for the shortfall…
