Putting the fear of god into white van men everywhere. But all in the best possible taste! (He said, in his best Kenny Everett/cupid stunt voice )
Actually, I used it as a tagline signature when I took a break from driving tankers to work tech support for the now defunct Time computer company, because I used to drive a white truck.
Incidentally, whenever I read on here of drivers complaining how crap their job/pay/conditions etc are, I just think that they’ve obviously never worked in a call center.
A nickname from a previous career which is a shortened version of my surname, the 2 was added after my computer crashed and I couldn’t access my e-mail account and so had to re-register.
Mines the first one that came to mind after joining after going out for the day with my dads friend dad in a brand new DAF XF in the early 2000’s, want to change it to what I use on the rest of the forums I use but you need a good reason to change it
I was a big fan Rising Damp , must have gone on about it too much so acquired the nickname Rigsby . When cb radio came along I used it as my handle and then user name on here .
Mine is the tool I used to hate being presented with, when I was an apprentice fitter, and being told to go and crack the wheel nuts on about 20 trucks and trailers. I don’t think the company possessed a torque wrench
During my Class 1 training the instructor stopped at the same snack van on each of the 5 x days - run by his mate, an ex-driver. There was another enthusiastic young driver there who turned up in a different truck every day only to be told each day by the mouthpiece chef & my instructor colourfully that he was unwelcome and should not return until he was driving a Scania.
The banter during much hilarity at the van with a half dozen or so drivers each day was that when he done that he would be ‘in the club’ and only then could be known truly as ‘a Fanny in a Scanny’.
I used that name on another forum then shortened to Scannyfanny for this one.
