Yes ill give them a ring on friday thanks for that… dont suppose you have the number do you I can’t seem to find it online also do I need any kind of proof or will they know through my tax records e.t.c…
You will most probably need your NI number as a minimum.
As it is a flat rate deduction there should not be any need to provide any receipts.
HMRC have said, some time ago, that the allowance is for logoed uniforms but others disagree.

The £60 flat rate allowance is for the upkeep etc of protective clothing or uniforms, and is clearly stated as NOT being allowable for ordinary clothing, even if the nature of your work means that you have extra laundry expense: hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/EIM32480.htm

Maybe because the amount is quite low you just want to forget it but if you did want to take it further you could look at the coding notice sent to you by HMRC around March of this year which will tell you your code and how it is worked out.
If you have not got the coding notice your payslip should give you your tax code which for a “normal” person (only one job and no under/over paid tax born after 04/1948 etc) your code should be 1000L for this tax year and for the last year, 2013/2014, the code would have been 944L.
If your code for this year is greater than 1000 then it is likely what you are getting some extra allowances over the standard £10,000.

You are dead right. But I would say (please tell me where i go wrong)
There is no mention of the amount of upkeep, replacement or repair. One shirt is as good as 1000 shirts…
The allowance is for (including other things) where the duties require it to be worn and the employee bear the cost.
So if I claim the allowance (boots, Hi Viz) which one, if any, is not allowable.
