Ever parked up for the night and regretted it?

It all came together lovely today, started at 3am and I’ve bashed out a 9:46 drive and a 14:50 shift.
So I chose to park up at a nice family pub, it’s pretty quiet at the start of the week and I’ve had a few good night sleeps here before.
I found a space straight away perfectly with only 1 other truck here, pulled my card, had a wet wipe wash, got changed and headed into the pub.
As I was half way into my mixed grill (which I substituted the black pudding for an extra egg might i add) I kept hearing a deep burbling sound every so often but thought nothing of it.
With my stomach full, I finished my glass of cold Magners and was looking forward to getting my head down with a nice cool breeze coming through the window as the temperature drops ready for an early start.
As I came out of the pub through the beer garden I noticed a lot of hairy men in leathers sitting enjoying a pint, I glanced back at the pub to make sure I was where I thought I was and all seemed ok.

That was until I quickly realised that I was slap bang in the middle of a ■■■■■■■ motorbike rally!!!
Now I got about 100 bikes riding up and down making more noise than a Saturn 5 rocket.
So much for a nice early sleep

Where are you then? Please tell!
The bikers may well be drivers too and will deter the ■■■■■■!
Couple of beers, safely parked up, off the road and not in a lay-by and got a parking receipt? Bonus!

And the problem with a bikers rally is?

Paul

you have my deepest sympathy

Calm down Mr defensive, I haven’t got a problem at all. I’ve actually had a walk round and looked at all the bikes, some very well turned out pieces. Just a case of Sod’s law in full flow that’s all.

I don’t really want to say yet, I’ve got gold bullion on.
I’ll tell you tomorrow

Not quite as bad as yours but pulled up for a 45 earlier thought I’d have a quick power nap in a lay by 5 minutes later Clancy dowcra pull up and out come the pneumatic drills arghhhhhhh!

I think you need to re-read it fella.

I think the point he is making is that he picked that spot because he knew he get good grub and a good nights sleep bu whilst walking back to his truck he noticed that he was stuck in a middle of a bike rally, which means no sleep.

Now I stand to be corrected but there’s some humour in the OP’s post

You couldn’t be in a safer place, the biking community are a respectful bunch.

I once told one of our drivers to park at Bexhill On Sea one night when he had a multi drop load for the South Coast and he didn’t know where to park. I told him it was a deacent place with pubs and takeaways. Got a phone call of him the next morning going ape ■■■■! Turns out it was Gay Pride week in near by Brighton and all the pubs where full of blokes in leather chaps and skintight jeans holding hands and whispering sweet nothing’s into their “partners” ear! :unamused:
