If you don’t like what Eurotunnel is doing why not vote with your feet and try one of the ferry operators - if you can club together with several other drivers and make an enquiry about a group rate you might do okay? Of course the ferry will take longer so it will depend on where the saving is to be made, on the driver’s time or on the crossing cost.
As far as profiting from going over the water to fill up, why not, if that suits you and you’re conveniently located to the ports? We boys from down in West Cornwall could have moaned about it being unfair that we had to drive 7 hours to Dover before we could cross the Channel but I don’t think we’d have got much sympathy from anyone else. If what you’re doing is legal, ethical, and it serves the interests of your business then why shouldn’t you try to optimise your operation, it’s only good business practise. The moaners should perhaps think about sorting out their own operations rather than turning on others; next thing you know they’ll be bringing up Willi Betz again …

Maybe its just me but I reckon the Eurotunnel can do the maths the same as us. If a tank hold 500 litres and the price difference is 30p (sterling) then thats £150 saving per tank full. If the truck is fitted with bigger, or twin, tanks then the saving is even greater.
It looks to me like they want a slice of your savings for themselves. That’s a shrewd business decision. The lack of notice is just plain stupid, careless or indifference (you decide). The Severn Bridge increase was notified for at least a month and maybe more.
Yes but when they are going over there for 2000 litres at a time as much as 4/5 per day for there diesel. Then perhaps you can relise that most of it is being sold on (at a profit).I was once chatting with a lad on the train who was going for diesel. On his FL10 he had two tanks each of them where 1100 litres, this was his third trip that night. You cant tell me he (or his boss) where not abusing the system !!!
Ref Odsodz last post
don’t H M customs monitor vehicle movements in/out of port
i was led to believe that max limit was 1500 litres
Therefore it would be impossible for unit to “use” this fuel if he was on third trip!!
