Good for you, but, you do seem to be trying to wind North Surrey up by calling him a cowboy and saying he must be running bent to get his fuel.
Leave the name calling in the playground.

Anyone remember belly tanks? 2000 litres at 13p per litre…Vince
Yeah i do Vince. Don’t remember the price though.
Some had headboard tanks instead/aswell.
I seen the trucks queues at the fuel stations in Luxembourg too.
oddsodz:
and then have the audasity to claim your tax back from belgium.
In what way is it an audacity to claim the VAT back from Belgium when he is perfectly entitled to claim it back? I make sure I claim the VAT back from the relevant countries for fuel, road tolls, tunnel tolls, truck washing etc, etc and the foreign hauliers will also be claiming their UK VAT back.
There is nothing audacious about it, just good business sense.

As i said coffee you work over there and pay the dearer insurance, repair bills and you use the european roads for your business so pay tax at there rates, but what is our main moan as to when johnnie forenger comes over here to work ie cheap diesel lower cost and the such,my argument is that its not cricket to winge as to the cost of the train going up it just means that sussex aint making as much profit as he was,but he must be able to claim back the expences (tax) of going on the train as it is a work related job,

whose sussex?
odsodz you STILL havn’t answered one of the first quetions i asked you ie
if you were running your own firm and you lived near enough to the south coast to take advantage of cheaper fuel from abroad would you do it?
my guess is yes (if you are going to be honest) and this is all sour grapes because your boss can’t & if he could maybe he would give you a pay rise!

sorry essex, yes i would if i was running my own firm but am not my boss wouldnt go over to get his diesel,so i must bear the brunt of not getting a decent pay rise cus hes paying the going rate for his fuel…
but what is our main moan as to when johnnie forenger comes over here to work ie cheap diesel lower cost and the such,
Oddz this holds no water just look back to the late eighties and how many english trucks were doin traction work out of Zeebrugge and Ostend, no-one moaned when we took the Belgians work i’m afraid its a case of what goes around comes around !!! its not the foreigners fault our transport industry is in such a mess and if i was foreign i would certainly take advantage of the situation.
And if your boss can’t give you a pay rise cos he’s diesel too high tell him to pack up and move to Belgium !!

you’ve just killed your own argument
