A four year old boy has to sleep, covered with coats, on a hospital floor.
Johnson at first refuses to even look at the photo, then eventually (after pocketing the journalist’s phone) brings himself to look at the picture of the boy, before offering the most half-hearted bland apology, then changes the subject by spouting about building 40 new hospitals (aye, really? FORTY new hospitals? Really Boris?), then skulks off. Interview done. Send the Health Minister into the hospital to smooth things over and everything’s fine.

After all that, he’s still miles ahead in the polls. That’s just confirmed to me that a donkey with a blue rosette would get a 20,000 majority in any safe Tory seat.

I felt rather uncomfortable when this story broke, and was all over social media (for the target audience).
I cannot believe that any medical professional in this day and age would place a sick child on a pile of coats on the floor within a Hospital.

Here I am restless in bed so got up and made a cup of tea cant think why I cant sleep, as for your comment “bigstraight6” I have since heard that the mother of that child took the kid of a bed and laid it on the floor with the coats and took the picture and then sold it to the press now weather there is any truth in that I am not sure but it would not surprise me at all, funny how we have not had a follow up report on the sickly child is it not, where are the press now or has this piece of journalism served its purpose and is off no further interest, Buzzer

If it was a stunt, why did the Health Minister go and apologise for it?
.
There may well be conspiracy rumours flying about, but even the politicians aren’t repeating them!

So that newspaper just happened to be in that hospital on that specific day to take the picture, yeh ok funny how in the interest of journalism and the country wide shock at this news that there has been absolutely no follow up story, just a publicity stunt by the Labour party, Buzzer

So it appears you choose to believe “what I have heard” from un-named sources abòut the photo being a set-up?
The Health Minister apparently believes it is genuine, because he apolgised.
None of the Tory papers have said anything about it being a false story. None of the political machine have said it’s false.
That put out lies about an alleged assault, and released a covert recording of a conversation to create a new story, but never denied the accuracy.
But if you choose to believe an anonymous internet tumour, that’s up to you.
.
The story is about the state of the NHS. The parents of the lad involved said they wanted no intrusion into their private medical issues. Not money grabbing, publicity seeking then. There has been no follow up on the private medical story for this reason.
No conspiracy involved at all.
And as I say, if there was, the campaigners would have been all over it.
.
Labour are making capital from it?
Well, if they are using this story to illustrate the result of the underfunding of the NHS for years, who would blame them? Should they keep quiet? They again are not intruding on the exact case involving this poor lad, but are using one picture to condense the truth of the wider situation.
Obviously Johnson wanted to ignore it and bury his head in the sand, but honestly dealing with problems directly isn’t his style. His avoidance of some of the harder TV interviewers also shows this.

And of course the NHS will flourish under a Corbyn Government . If elected god forbid he plans to let more immigrants in so how do you think that will effect the NHS . It is overstretched so adding to the problem with people who have paid nothing in isn’t going to help

It is over stretched because it underfunded. With suitable support our doctors and nurses are as good as any. Without funds to even have a bed for the sick, we are asking them to do the impossible.
Nurses using food banks? No beds?
Who you gonna blame?
Those few thousand (as we are always told “fit and healthy young men”) or those who for many years have been cutting taxes and cutting NHS resources?
You make your choice. I’ll make mind.

Blair had more than enough time to put Labours ideas into action but never did the NHS as been under pressure for many years for the simple reason too many people are using it that have never paid into the pot .Its not free we pay through our wages but for gods sake when are we going to get a PM who will say to new immigrants that for the first 10 years you must pay into a private health care scheme or you will not be allowed to enter .Not make it less attractive for those wishing to live here but more like how we have to like here. Maybe if Scotland paid for their prescriptions their contribution would help too at £9 a time it all adds up

There are lots of ways of measuring performance.
In November of this year the Guardian wrote that A&E waiting times were in Oct the worst they had been since 2010. FullFact checked it out.
Check for yourself.
Other measures may tell differing stories. I haven’t heard of any honest good news stories about NHS funding.
.
EU immigrants are covered by EHIC cards while they are here, as UK citizens are covered abroad. A reciprocal agreement. FullFact says we are net losers on this but by a marginal amount. Many millions per year but not a lptfor such a large budget.
.
Non EU immigrants are expected to pay %150 of the NHS rate for treatment. Look on the NHS website.
.
Of course being (currently) a civilsed country we dont leave the poor to die in the gutter.
.
Try looking at the NHS website to learn how it works. Don’t rely on the spin and lies of politicians and their media owing supporters.

Think the immigrants we are talking about here came over in the back of a lorry or by a rubber dinghy and they don’t have any papers to say where they originated from only a mobile phone and a packet of ■■■■ that’s about it, but they get full service no questions asked that’s what happens in reallity, just saying Buzzer

And dont forget who was in charge up to May 2010 the party that couldnt tell us how many they had let in but are so quick to slate . We could have used the gold they sold to build a few hospitals

Anyone heard how the election went ?

Big victory for Johnson.
Unlike May he has a sizable (huge) majority so wont have to pander to a small faction in his party.
Here’s hoping* for a good trade deal with the EU, and a smooth Brexit, as we promised both in 2016.
Nice to agree ain’t it.

I think there should be another election , people have died this morning that voted for Boris and then there are the ones who have turned 18 today they wouldn’t vote Boris. . No another vote is needed

I’ve just seen again Ma Krankys reaction to the news her party had won the seat for Dumbartonshire from Swinson , she was jumping around looking like a cross between Anne Robinson and Basil Brush , no respect there for Swinson

The reaction from Ma Kranky on that news just shows you the calibre of her, nasty little piece of work there from a jumped up little elf. No respect for a fellow politician what so ever even though she was from another party, she needs to have a little bit more decorum, Buzzer.

Hi Buzzer,
Good result overall, afraid bad result for us up here, if I was to send Ma Kranky down to you, do you think you could make her see the errors of her ways, she has all north of the border brain washed and is gathering speed. Boris has said not another referendum for Scotland lets hope he sticks to the plan. Bobs

Even the presenter commented on her behaviour , she backtracked a little but showed her lack of respect

Well, thanks for that lesson in decorum, respect, and polite manners from you gentlemen. We can all learn from your fine example.
