HRS:
That’s funny ,
side splitting ,
just like the French on another national strike because they are being made to work longer before being pensioned off ,sound familiar , Greece skint ,Spain Portugal and Italy skint , Germany unrest and a falling economy and so it continues. Why would anyone vote leave when the good old EU is doing so well for itself .
I forgot to mention Ma Kranky and her campaign , ir wont be long before you can add Scotland to the list if which i doubt the people of Scotland bow to her [zb]
Dont forget mate, she does not have a majority anymore, thank god !!! Harvey, “living in Kranky land”

I`m glad to hear it HRS and long may it continue
A four year old boy has to sleep, covered with coats, on a hospital floor.
Johnson at first refuses to even look at the photo, then eventually (after pocketing the journalist’s phone) brings himself to look at the picture of the boy, before offering the most half-hearted bland apology, then changes the subject by spouting about building 40 new hospitals (aye, really? FORTY new hospitals? Really Boris?), then skulks off. Interview done. Send the Health Minister into the hospital to smooth things over and everything’s fine.
After all that, he’s still miles ahead in the polls. That’s just confirmed to me that a donkey with a blue rosette would get a 20,000 majority in any safe Tory seat.

Trust you to pickup on this, its not news its done purely for publicity had there not been a general election I doubt this would have been brought to our attention. This type of occurrence is happening all the time in our hospitals every day, this does not make it right but it is prevalent and the problem seems to be with the exploding population mainly by immigration and the fact that we are all living longer.
This is not a problem that can have a quick fix how ever much money is thrown at it and will take time to get things to an acceptable level all I can say is when I have needed the NHS it has been there for me and I have no complaints as I am sure many on here will agree but what I do take exception to is the NHS being used as a political football and this by most of the parties involved in this general election.
Boris Johnson has only been the prime minister for a very short time so he should not have all the blame put on his shoulders, ok he is a member of the Conservative party so you could take aim at him and his party, maybe you have a personal dislike of him but from where I am standing I don’t want to see Corbin with his beliefs in number10 as you really would know what disaster looks like and remember he’s the one who wants every one on a four day week that is accept any one who works for the NHS.
Sitting here typing this I do wonder what the scenario would look like if we did not have the Brexit saga hanging over us but that is for sure the reason we are having a general election in the first place brought on by other party’s doing every thing in there power to stop it happening including getting laws past in this endeavour, come Friday the 13th we will all know the outcome and most I feel just want this all sorted so we can move on and get back to normal, Buzzer

“Get back to normal”?
The ‘new’ normal where you say excessive waiting lists in hospitals are everyday?
.
Apart from the underfunded hospitals, schools and police, how do you explain away the behaviour of our current P.M. who tries to ignore ‘inconvenient’ facts?
How can you defend his behavoiour?
Can you defend the way the Tory machine spun out a story about an “assault”? And how releasing a week’s old recording of a private phone conversation where a Labour MP loans about Corbyn?
Credit where it’s due the Tories are masterly at lying and spinning to get into power.
.
And to the issue:
Haven’t you moaned about the Labour Goverment letting in too many immigrants? Yet hospital waiting times dropped under them!
Tories are in now, and they’d rather give tax cuts to the rich, and to business rather than spend on hospitals. Their choice. Their responsibility.
They have been power for ten years and are still blaming Labour!
Well they now, with an election around the corner, promise more money for hospitals…
.
Don’t worry if they get in we can look forward to the ‘new normal’. Those promises will go the way of the others.

Bit of a spat on Twitter and other social media regarding this, theguardian.com/media/2019/ … spital-boy, a bad sad situation exploited by both sides guilty of political points scoring.
Hypocrite Sturgeon has spent a lot of TV interview time lately telling the nation how much better the NHS(devolved) is north of the border… it is a bloody disaster express.co.uk/news/politics … fGpsaFZbzA

Trust me to pick up on this?
Well, it shocked me (and millions of others) and if it’s happening all the time throughout the country that’s a pretty damning indictment on the party that has been in power for 10 years.
Like yourself, if I’ve needed the NHS it’s been there for me, thankfully these occaisions have been few and far between. It’s just nice to know it’s there.
Aye, Boris has only been PM since the summer, but his party have had ample time to sort out Labour’s alleged mess.
Seriously, can you still blame Labour after having been in power for 10 years?

Well here we are again Franglais you cant help yourself can you when I post anything on here however moderate my reasoning is to try and belittle what I have to say, judging by your input I take it your not a Conservative voter and would prefer to see Corbin in power and it would not take more than the first five years of him in power to give this nation another ten years of austerity believe me.
Labour has a policy of borrowing big to try and solve immediate problems but at some stage that money has to be paid back and that’s when the reality kicks in, we all know that as we have been there before.
Your point on the Tories lying and spinning well they are not alone are they, all parties do this so none of them are perfect, last night watching a multi party forum with an 18 to 30 year old audience all the panel were asked for a short answer on what they would do to change parliament and the Welsh chap Plaid Cymru said he would make it a criminal offence if any MP was found to have lied in which case we could do away with Whitehall that’s for sure and find another way of running the company.
One final point since the Tories have been in power as you say for ten years unemployment has decreased and we are on the up as a nation so why are you so unhappy with them, Labour want to tax the rich who run these profitable companies but they only take so much of that and then they just up sticks lock stock and barrel and move to a country with more favourable conditions.

So, do you then think it is “moderate” to accept falling standards in Health, Justice, and Education? I wouldn’t choose such a word, but if that’s your viewpoint, that’s up to you.
.
The austerity budgets were bought in by the Tories as a cure for the Global recession. Other countries gave up on them earlier. The recession was caused largely by under-regulated, laissez-faire, policies. You know, the sort of policies the ERG want more of!
Is there less unemployment? Maybe. But what of the quality of current zero-hours contracts? What are those jobs worth if we have record use of food banks?
Is the country as a whole richer?
Maybe. But is that wealth only for a smaller percentage of the population? Inequality is beggaring honest workers. Does it matter if the country is richer if that money does no good for the majority of citizens?
.
Outlaw liars in Parliament?
I wish I lived in Wales: he’s got my vote!
I am conceited enough to think I deserve better than being ruled by liars and blaggards.
What about you?
.
Well I may be a radical thinker, but I think it’s better to tax the rich rather than the poor. We need more investment in the country for ALL of us. As you say we can’t borrow our way out of this place.
So we all need to pay now. I’m happy for my taxes to rise to pay for the good of all. I think the richest should pay most. I’m not poor so I’ll be worse off. But to live in a better country I reckon that’s money well spent. That’s not my kid sleeping on the floor, but I’m not happy anyone’s kid should be there.
.
When have the richest left money making opportunities behind them? A few pop/film stars are no great loss to me.
Businesses should be taxed on their trade in each country. The Starbucks and Google’s of this world are the biggest tax evaders. A decent Government (not one made up of investors who benefit from off shore and foreign funds) could, and should step up and sort that out.
.
P.S.
The “belittling” bit?
Sorry if you feel offended.
I didn’t realise you were so sensitive.
.
Especially after you posted that picture suggesting all Labour voters were ■■■■■■
Edit .
Autocensor has cut out the word from the picture you posted earlier.
Ho, Hay!
Now that’s a more rational reply Franlais, some of which I can agree with you on that’s for sure but I think in the beginning food banks were started to save out of date or sell by date products going to landfill, this is a good thing but I am sure if you were to look into some of those who are now using these food banks they will be using the money saved on food purchases now and use that money to smoke and drink and have luxuries like mobile phones and before any one kicks off about that there are some genuine users of course.
All in all its never going to be perfect but there is room for a lot of improvement, as for taxing the likes of Google & Starbucks bring it on I totally agree with you on that one and your idea of us all paying a little more yes that’s good too but it does not sound good on any election manifesto which ever party it is so that rarely happens. Both major parties have promised more money input especially Labour to solve all our current problems but I am not holding my breath on either doing what they preach only time will tell on that one.
Discussion is a good thing and it is right to here different opinions even if we disagree on some at least we have aired our views, Buzzer.
The man who has consistently said raise taxes to pay for better services for us all?
Or the man who was elected party leader by promising tax cuts, and who now wants to be elected by us all on increased spending?
Food-Banks: the Trussel Trust food banks are the biggest.
They issue food donated by both shops and from public donations. They issue food to people with vouchers who are referred by professionals, such as doctors, social workers, police etc.
There may well be cases of abuse, but it’s not just an easy handout for free food, so the housekeeping money can get spent on booze.
.
Edit to add. Even the Daily Mail, not a leftie tag, carried stories about nurses using food banks. 2017.
At least the food is being used and not going to land fill which is a good thing whatever the circumstances of the users, years ago when I was a lad all that stuff was collected by farmers and fed to pigs but that has been stopped now. Franglais last day to make your mind up who you vote for but suspect you have made that decision already, Buzzer

I felt rather uncomfortable when this story broke, and was all over social media (for the target audience).
I cannot believe that any medical professional in this day and age would place a sick child on a pile of coats on the floor within a Hospital.

During the war if I remember there were a few dustbins in streets where people could put their waste food.Couldn’t do it now as they wouldn’t be enviromently friendly with urban foxes and vandalisers. My Grandad kept pigs and had a copper on his small holding and used to collect waste food from a local army camp. The pigs loved it and it was cheaper than corn.
I remember the pigman coming every week to empty the pig bin in the 50s
I was too young to remember the actual wagon (Maybe Carryfast Drove One & Can) - but I do remember how totally minging it was, what an awful job, especially in the summer - makes a picnic of collecting 25tons of offal & waste from a slaughterhouse on a hot summer Monday (for delivery to Oxo Cubes & similar)
Well, it’s nearly time to exercise your right and cast your vote.
The final tally of electioneering leaflets arriving through my letterbox is as follows:-
Brexit Party - 5 (all different, all on different days)
Conservatives - 1 (arrived yesterday)
Labour - 1 (arrived today)
all others, nil.
It will be entertaining to hear the runners-up and also-rans claiming “great victories” after the event, as they always do. It would also be a nice change to hear “we lost because we are rubbish”, but I doubt I ever will. And will the victors, whoever they are, be denied the keys to No.10 for three or four years because the losers don’t like the result?
Use your vote - if you don’t, you have no right to complain afterwards.
