Over the years (and there’s been a few) I’ve worked out what’s the front end and rear end of a truck.
I’m also aware of Corby and it’s history.
Where do you get the idea I don’t like England? It’s a wonderful place. It’s got its fair share of idiots and wasters (what country hasn’t, mine certainly has) but I’ve personally never had any problems there.
The point I was making to Buzzer was that England is not the UK. It’s only part of it.

On several of your posts you’ve said how other nationalities hate the English. Although we can only speak as each of us finds, that hasn’t been my experience.
For the most part I treat other people with the basic levels of respect that I hope to receive, and about 30yrs driving I’ve only been subject to hate because of my nationality once.
Fine, some think I’m bad at parking, tell bad jokes, think I’ve got an ugly face or whatever, but nationality? Nah.

Like I say, I speak as I find.
Some officials seemed to enjoy making problems it’s true, but those sad fools seemed to hate all lorry drivers equally. They didn’t seem to single out English or British drivers particularly. That’s held true in the West or East Euro or rare N. Africa trips I’ve done.
Maybe some favour their own countrymen? Maybe it’s because someone fluent in their native language gets on easier and quicker? But an Aosta Dogana who dislikes foreigners is likely to take against Swede as much as a Brit, but they’ll hate a Sicillian more!
