Buzzer:
I just knew you would retort but to me and lots of others who voted to leave the EU this is no joking matter, obviously you love being controlled by the EU but they will fall maybe not just yet but it will happen watch this space, Buzzer.
I suppose you’re right. It’s no joking matter.
I mean, the biggest hammer-blow imaginable to our economy? What is there to joke about?
Ha ha nine posts on this page so far, are you going for a record ? shame there is no real constructive comment in what you print. You must also be able to look into the future with your " biggest hammer blow " comment and the truth is no one can accurately predict the outcome if we leave not even you but if it does happen which I believe it will you may get a big surprise, I don’t like any deal TM’s or Boris’s so I want a clean break and go from there, Buzzer.
Buzzer:
No, I’m not going for a record (wasn’t aware there was a limit on posts). I’ve just got time on my hands. That’s the way it is with four days on, four days off.
Not the owner of a crystal ball, I’m afraid, so, like yourself, I’m just speculating.
I might be surprised? Well, I hope I’m pleasantly surprised.
We’re leaving. Whether I like it or not I think I’ll just have to accept that.
The outcome of this forthcoming election is either going to be a Tory majority or a hung parliament.
A Tory majority gives them the power to push Brexit over the finish line. A hung parliament brings us right back to square one.
Neither option appeals to me, but, I’ll dutifully go out and cast my vote and await the consequences.
Buzzer:
Eddie think you’ll find they have already melted them 50p’s down, Buzzer.
Re screen shot about Corbyn`s wife.
Well? So what?
How much do her Mexican workers actually earn? That’s more important isn’t it?
Is it above or below the minimum wage?
Is it above or below the average wage for the area?
Is she paying workers less/same/more than other coffee dealers?
.
Assuming those figures are correct, do they mean anything relevant?
Edit. The “Plantation Master” is actually a coffee importer, and doesn`t have any land or coffee production interests as such.
No angry comments from a second instance of a US president poking his nose into UK politics?
Getting angry a couple of years ago about a president talking about US/UK trade has subsided to silence when one talks openly about which party leader would be best in an upcoming election!
Maybe everyone here is happy to have foreigners sticking their oar in now?

The problem with Trump imo is that he spouts out stuff before engaging his brain (not sure if there is one) he is certainly not the most diplomatic of beings and is used to paying to get what he wants, he thought he was going to run the USA on his own but Obama told him that its mot a one man operation. The other thing is I cant believe is that Melania really snuggles up to him in bed perhaps he bought her as well.

This is what makes me cringe about the EU, Buzzer
As Spardo says the UK TV licence is nowt to do with the EU.
The Kinnocks are members of the House of Lords which on this occasion did, as a body, support the Tory Gov in ending concessionary free TV licences for the over 75`s.
Did the Kinnocks actually speak or vote in this debate? Saying they are “members of the group who voted” may be strictly true, but very misleading. After all we can say that Johnson is a “member of the group” (House of Commons) who voted repeatedly against Brexit. True, but misleading.
Do you Buzzer, think the Lords should have stood in the way of the Tories in this case?
Edit to add.
Just so we know who is responsible for stopping the free TV licence:
“The free licences were introduced by Labour in 1999 as part of a plan to improve conditions for pensioners, with the cost funded by government. But in 2015, the Conservatives announced they would phase this out by 2020 and push the financial burden on to the BBC, despite making a manifesto promise to keep up the £745m a year funding. Unable to cover the cost, and after a lengthy consultation, the BBC says it will need all those aged 75 or over to pay the £154.50 annual fee from next June, apart from those who can show they claim the means-tested pension credit.” theguardian.com/commentisfr … er-75s-bbc
1 with that one Buzzer . Socialist representative my arse . He spent that much time falling over on the beach that he failed to get the top job in the UK parliament , so he took his football home and chose a career working for , and I use the term ’ working for ’ incidentally as a polite alternative to the less perceivably injurious term ’ leeching from ’ that disreputable collection of losers collectively known as the European Parliament.
I’ve never heard his name mentioned for years , yet during the intervening period , several millions of Euros will no doubt have been credited to his offshore account .
Just the same with that ■■■■■■■ Blair , another ■■■■■■■ of biblical proportions if ever there was one… …( let’s see how the swear word filter deals with that one eh? )
Middle East peace envoy allegedly , aside from being a dedicated ( millionaire ) socialist…
" Weapons of mass destruction " eh? , well , what a load of bollox that ultimately turned out to be. And Hey George ! there’s this right tw*t in Lybia , we’ll need to sort this dude out toute suite…, In retrospect , that escapade turned out fine and dandy didn’t it ,…?..come on, let’s be fair .
These are the kind of ■■■■■■■■ that we’ll have to contend with until the revolution dawns I’m afraid folks.
I daresay I’ll be long gone by then , so I’d just like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best of luck with BoJo , Corbyn , that dozy cow in Scotland , our comrades in Northern Ireland , Gonzo , Statler, Waldorf , the Swedish chef and the rest of the muppet lineup.
But before I log off, I’d just like to mention Joe Gormley , the miner’s representative . Occasionally referred to as Lord Gormley . Yeah!, that chimes well doesn’t it , a socialist Lord eh?..my arse.

Ooh, bitter, but with reason. Anybody with Lord or Sir (except for those who have done exceptional service beyond what they were paid to do) before their name should be reduced to just plain Mister (or Missus) and allowed, like all British citizens, to vote like normal people do.

Yep.
Having 90 hereditary peers in the Lords is unacceptable, as is having various sky-pixie believers helping decide our future.
“Take Back Control” Ha!

Morning everyone, and what a fine morning it is.
It’s not just any morning, it’s ‘Do or Die’ day. And it feels so good. We’ve finally ‘taken back control’.
What a beautiful feeling. What a wonderful Leader.
Thanks Boris. We love you.
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but then we could not expect nought else from you could we.
To give the full quote from Oscar Wilde:
“Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence.”

Ha Ha. At least there’s one thing Buzzer and I can agree on now . . . That certainly doesn’t apply to me.

TV Licences should be scrapped and the BBC should find the money elsewhere like other broadcasting companies do , or close imho

Dunno about that one, Is there any real proof that the politically rewarded are any better or actually know more about what is being discussed? I think the hereditary peers will know a great deal more about Great Britain than all the Johnny come latelies who will have bagged a nice directorship for services past in the lobby group.

“Before the passing of the Act, the House approved a Standing Order stating that the remaining hereditary peers shall consist of:[1]
2 peers to be elected by the Labour hereditary peers
42 peers to be elected by the Conservative hereditary peers
3 peers to be elected by the Liberal Democrat hereditary peers
28 peers to be elected by the Crossbench hereditary peers
15 peers to be elected by the whole House
The holders of the offices of Earl Marshal (the Duke of Norfolk) and Lord Great Chamberlain (currently the Marquess of Cholmondeley) to be ex officio members”
The politically rewarded, unsatisfactory as that is I agree, have at least been rewarded for something! Some are rewarded for services to Government, so do know what is happening, and how the machine works.
Rewarded for being part of lobby groups? Dunno.
The 92 hereditary Lords still sitting is somewhat stretching the “temporary” 1999 compromise isn`t it?
Why do you believe that someone inheriting a title would “know more about Great Britain” than anyone who had to earn their place in the upper chamber?

You’re kind of answering your own question there. Politically rewarded?
Most advanced democratic countries have a second chamber. It’s a kind of ‘must have’ if you want an alternative to dictatorship.
Shouldn’t they be elected though?
Tradition, especially British tradition is all well and good, but as we approach the year 2020 do we have to populate our Upper House with hereditary members? Or rewarded members?
Apparently we do. Because? Well, that’s just the way it’s always been done. Nothing’s going to change soon, I’ll admit, but change is definitely necessary.
