Morning all,
Climate change: Fact, over 90% of Dinosaurs lived in forests and lived on plant life.
over 90% of Dinosaur remains are found in deserts to day.
Conclution: Cave men lighting fires in caves are responsible for climate change.

This is the tricky bit: What part of the world has the most caves, yes, France. Think we all know where this is going !!!

6 months ago the temperature in my garden was about +2degrees. It is now over 12degrees.
Definitive proof that Global warming is happening even quicker that previously thought.

Last year it was 25 degrees in my garden its 6 degrees today can I have a refund on the tax they will be charging ■■?

" I’m not too happy with our local results … because most people didn’t know what they were voting for" (quote)

In my case, true ! There were four candidates hoping for support in my local council ward, yet not one of them bothered to inform me (or any of my neighbours) what they intended to do for the good of our local community, so I added a fifth option - “none of the above” - to my ballot paper and put a cross against it. Now, by not voting for a real candidate, I’ve given up my right to complain about the outcome, but I think I can live with that until a credible alternative comes along. I might be waiting a long time. I just hope the main parties realise that they can’t take things for granted, get their fingers out and do the job they’re elected to do.

There were 4 candidates in my area I have never heard of any of them , 3 were from the main parties , Labour got in with UKIP 2nd

It will be interesting to see how the European elections go having seen how the local elections have gone. Having said that Liberals have had a good night but i would think that most who voted for them would be doing so in protest of the main two who are both a shambles at the moment. Its a wake up call that neither party will take any notice of because they are so out of touch and arrogant. I’m not too happy with our local results and think we should have another vote because most people didnt know what they were voting for

It’s obvious that if its a protest vote it’s just remainers doing all the ‘protesting’ and a vote for remain whether switching from Labour or Cons.**I get the gut feeling including my own that the country is too far gone so let it go.Which is one of the reasons why I didn’t bother to vote.It was as good as lost in 1066 and this is probably just the end game playing out.**LibDems voting for centralised foreign imposed dictatorship just because they think it’s in their own selfish interest. They couldn’t make it up.If the Queen doesn’t want to step in to stop an obvious agenda of foreign takeover helped by a fifth column within then why should I give a zb.I’ll probably be gone by the time the place realises its mistake anyway with EU Federal troops on the streets enforcing Federal rule over the place.

Unfortunately you can bet that all references of those of us who tried to stop it will be erased by that point so future generations of Nationalist ‘rebel seperatists’ will be cursing and blaming us all for selling their country out.

A very good parallel. Consider this quote from Sir Frank Stenton’s “Anglo-Saxon England” referencing the reign of Æthelred II, Danegeld and the Viking invasions during his reign.

" No one who has followed the sequence of events …can fail to receive the impression of an ancient and rich society, helpless before a derisive enemy because its leaders were incapable of government"

As an obvious global warmist believer it’s my guess that you are actually being serious. :open_mouth:

Having said that the fact that the house feels like a fridge unless I’ve got the heating on at great expense, ironically adding to the CO2,in bleedin May is definitive proof that Global Cooling is happening.Which just leaves the question of how much gas would I need to burn and pay for to create enough CO2 to reach the point where it’s warm enough to no longer need it and leave the heating off. :smiling_imp:

To be fair Harold arguably got the place back on track and at least as good as Athelstan in that regard. It’s only human nature that there are going to be some turkeys getting into the frame from time to time and some flaws in even the best of them like even Athelstan’s obvious retrograde tendency towards centralised government. On that note the events of 1066 could have and almost did turned out very differently with the near victory at Hastings added to the heroic throwing back of the Vikings and march back South again to meet the Franco/Norman invasion. The rest, from the Franco/Norman takeover of the country, setting it on the inevitable path to being a province of a Franco/German run Federal Europe,as part of a 1,000 year + Reich, probably being history from that point.

It’s Saturday evening. I got back this morning from work (you know, providing for the family etc.) so I’ve missed what’s been going on this week in the Brexit thread.
Glad to see everything’s up to speed.

Does it really matter what we say or Think anymore.Leaders and those Close to them,be it in a democracy, socialist state or dictatorship ignore us to benefit themselves and have done so for the last 1000 yrs.
Religion and politics have become a social corrupt self serving entity.

Well said

You know what Ramone? I’m seconding that ‘Well said’.

Yep - I’m with Mike on that one. Whatever we say or do, those tossers in “power” will suit themselves. We need another Olly Cromwell. Jim.

And social corrupt, self serving entities don’t come more corrupt and self serving than the wannabee EU superstate and its satanic scum leaders like Juncker infiltrating both the church and politics.

Old Bill says it all, how many years ago ?

“This royal throne of kings, this sceptered isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,

–This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.”

And our *Leaders" want to give it all away.

Ann Widdecombe with a very clear message for May, Corbyn, the Liberal Irrelevants & Junker with no ifs, no buts, no waffle, no words put in voters’ mouths, no mealy-mouthed twisting, just telling it like it is:

youtube.com/watch?v=cdrAFKVPpfM

Actually I think Ann Widdecombe would have made a good prime minister, not just of her opinions on Brexit either because at least she says it how it is and I think would take actions on what she believed correct which is a lot more than the tossers in power at the moment and she was so incensed with how things are being handled she resigned from the Tories after 22 years service to make her point, Buzzer

I remember at school, St. Bees, in ■■■■■■■■■■ - Chapel every morning and twice on Sundays - looking at the Masters, who I respected, and thinking ‘well they believe in this, it must be right.’ But still… The bishop of Carlisle preached to us one Sunday. His theme was that the word atheist was Latin and the Greek equivalent was Ignoramus. ‘And nobody wants to be an ignoramus!!!’ I thought he was a pompous ■■■■■ This was the stuff of Inquisition to me as a 16 year old know all!

I also remember watching a courtroom scene - written I think by John Mortimer, always clever with words - where the accused, having been sentenced, said to the judge ‘I hope you burn in Hell for eternity!’ The Judge replied calmly ‘Well if I do, I shall certainly look forward to meeting you there.’

What has this to do with Brexit? Well, Donald Tusk has reserved a special place in Hell for me, as one who wishes to leave the EU without a plan. I think WTO is a far better plan than the eternal subjugation to the Fourth Reich, but then I am obviously an ‘ignoramus.’ However, if all those people are right, and Hell exists, I do look forward to discussing the finer points with Donald…

I think I will probably register for the Brexit Party, but I suspect Mrs May is going to stuff us up to ‘eternal subjugation’ before the EU Elections, so they don’t have to have another show of how furious we are.

John.

Perhaps you should have put less credence in the words of those promoting superstition and looked up stuff for yourself John.

Atheism is not a Latin word derived from Greek, it was an ancient Greek word later translated into Latin, and in neither case did it mean ignoramus. Ignoramus is a perjorative term of insult these days but simply refers to a person who is ignorant of something. Neither word is related and an atheist is someone who denies that supernatural gods exist.

What that has to do with Brexit is unclear but Donald Tusk, though perhaps a little over the top, merely meant that it was wrong of people to not to make a plan to follow a plan, the outcome of which everyone is truly ignorant. Both you, and me.

I think you’re missing the point here Spardo? I read it that this was the moment that a youngster heard the Bishop talking tosh, and realised that the authority figures were fallible. He knew the Bishop was saying any old crap just to force his point across.
(I could be wide of the mark, but that’s how I see it)

Daresay John thinks the tosh here is being put abòut by different figures than you or I might though? [emoji5]

We were not given a “plan” to vote on, IN or OUT. why make thing complicated, WTO will do for the majoity.

You could be right, but that still doesn’t mean that it is a good idea not to plan for the next step before you take the first. That was what Tusk meant, he thought that to go through a door marked exit without looking through the window first to see what is on the other side, only to find when you have done so that the next step is sharply downwards, is not a good plan.

It is abundantly clear that no politicians have thought it through properly which is why there is so much confusion amongst them as to what to do next.

Absolutely.

We’ve now dipped our toes in the water that many assured us was nice and warm. David Davies who promised us easy deals has got frost-bite, the water’s so cold.

Farage is stood on the sides shouting (as he does) “Jump in. Ignore those sharks. You said you wanted a dip”.

Sorry HRS, but it is complicated.
No one wants it more complicated than it is, but anyone who tells it is easy doesn’t understand it.
A five year old may watch a rocket launch and see how easily the thing lifts off. Count backwards from ten? Difficult but doable. Then push the big red button.
We both know it ain’t that easy. It’s complex. It’s rocket science.
