Eu referendum whats your vote

But actually John, you are quite correct.

There are many little stories that perhaps I should write about concerning such activities…in ceramics…carpets…as well as vehicle manufacture…Wonder why “our” industries in these sectors has gone?

Cheerio for now.

The bee that is buzzing around in my bonnet is getting louder, l watched a clip on the box about expats in Spain, the majority interviewed expressed the intention to vote IN. Why do they have the right to vote?? I don’t object to anyone resident in this country exercising their right to vote, no matter what their origin or ethnicity but, expats clearly in my opinion, gave up there rights when they relocated abroad. Apparently there are 300,000 with the “right” to a vote. I disagree with this situation no matter which way they vote!!! Rant over    Regards Kev. Ps I know they have this concession for fifteen years after leaving, I think that amount of time should tell us where there loyalties lie.

France threatens to hamper the Euro football tournament and the holiday trade all fuel for the OUT voters, unrest indeed there as they want 35 hour working week with over 10% unemployed national growth very low and retirement at 55, Where is the money coming from for all that. Here we are having our retirement age to qualify for pension going the other way and the reason for there unrest is apparently they don’t want any easement in the way personnel are employed or released, time for them to get real and just get there backsides into gear, as it happens I quite like the country but not it’s militant inhabitants Buzzer.

100% correct Kev their own conscience should prevent them from voting eh! There was an retired Sqaddie on Question time last night who had been resident in Spain for a number of years and because of his health problems the Spanish told him to go back to the UK as he was too much of a liability for them. So much for we’re all equal in the EU. Cheers Dennis.

Have been asking myself all day whether or not to put my point on this… And have decided totry and put me point across. Go easy on me if you don’t agree please.

I have lived in Spain for the last 14 years, my daughter is half catalan(another polilital story, Catalunya not me little girl !!), I throughly enjoy living and working in Spain and it would be a very sorry day if I ever had to move back to England. ( I hope most sincerely it doesn’t happen).

However and think or make of it what you will, I have ever only voted once in my life, (against lab our and the Blair govt) so no I’m not particularly politically minded. But for the euro referendum I have applied to vote on line as a NO vote.

Sure, it won’t make much difference to me day to day. But I am still English and always will be, regardless of where I live, and I think the whole Eu arrangement is about to self combust what with the French doing what they do best, striking, for the last 3 weeks and continuing on. Belgium on strike every 2nd day. Greece a total and utter ■■■■ up on behalf of EU. Etc etc etc… That’s just scratching the surface, Germany Poland Bulgaria Spain… Not enough words to use as to the disaster that’s about to unfold. Or touch on the immigrant situation which has been rumbling on for the last 20 years or so, even though the general public think it’s a new thing. We as drivers / HAULIERS know much different…

I’m also sick to the back teeth of seeing Spanish / French / German ?..wherever trailers being pulled by the commie block units. I can’t believe how no one has the nouce or desire to stop this total cabotage and illegal haulage.

When / if the UK is out, I personally think it can be solved overnight for uk international haulage. Bring the permits back, but not with the restraints we all had before.

So, please forgive me, but yes I will vote on this, and my head up high when doing so…

English history shows us what we do when the chips are down, and there getting lower by the day…

If you have an hour and a half to watch and listen carefully to Peter Hitchens on the subject of Germany and the EU, with an awful lot of background European and Russian history thrown in then it would IMHO be time well spent.

youtube.com/watch?v=3CNeDtZmpjU

If you don’t have that time, fast forward to about the last 10 mins when someone in the audience asks Hitchens the very last question, which way we should vote?

Have read your piece “Tubbysboy” I I am not about to shoot you down in flames. Having been involved on International transport most of my life (40 plus years) and my two boys still at it but with far fewer motors mainly because as you say the competition with a lot of eastern Europeans doing the driving a lot with two men in one truck and having said before they have new trucks and trailers not old tonkers and they are paid far less than we pay our men.
Again you mention France in your piece well my son told me we now have to have a French representative to assure them we are paying the right amount for the job, what cheek they don’t chase those afore mentioned competition.
Generally as I have previously stated Brussels have a band of unelected persons who make up the rules and laws which us Brits follow to the letter while the Germans and others delay enforcement and then quietly don’t bother and this after we have had the expense of compliance
We have no need for a parliament here and all it’s servants as they now have no power over our citizens any more except atxing us and handing it all to Brussels,.
And to add to my input you are on the right lines when you say the EU is in self destruct mode, I have already said even if we stay in it will only be a short time before it all goes ■■■’s up, it would just be better if we had a head start on the rest by coming out now and just watch the pack follow. A lot of countries are thinking on the same lines and waiting for our outcome here, if “call me Dave” had any balls we would not be having this referendum he should have just pulled the plug when he was elected on his own, I voted for him and regret that now.
As for bringing back permits that I don’t want, when building my little empire if I can call it that I spent a small fortune acquiring permits and EC books just to do my work and over night they were useless, should have bought houses instead.
A far better way to curb foreign competition would be to increase the tax to drive in our country say like £200 on entry go where you like, this in my opinion would be far better. When you think about it how far would you get once you have landed in mainland Europe on £200 not very far I can tell you, hit them where it hurts and hit them hard. This week we were shipping ten trucks and had to fuel up here because of the agro in France and that cost us £3000 extra money that we cannot recoup.
The only and best vote is OUT no more scare mongering lets get going on our own account once more and show those bent Europeans we were right all along, Vive La Britain the Great is already gone Buzzer the OUT man.

Buzzer, couldn’t agree with you more.

Especially on the subject of eec blue books. If I remember correctly they were being sold for about 10 to 18k back in the late 80’s ? Then in 1992 they weren’t worth the paper they were printed on.
Me old Dad managed to “aquire” a couple of them and was amazed that the rates that were being thrown around for inter Europe work were so cheap.

We used to load waste paper to Valencia for 1400 pounds (ferries paid) and load back from Silla with tangerines or oranges back to Convent Garden for 1750 (ferries paid) this was using tilts, no fridges like you use, open the front straps of the tilt and “gel” on !

Nowadays I’m not involved in dry nor fridge stuff, but in adr chemicals.

The prices we, as a Spanish company are running for is more than outrageous, it’s about half as what it used to be back in the permit, customs days. We’re all guilty of it as we all think we know the crack better than the next man.

But now we’ve all been shafted properly by the rest of the “EU” and I fear it’s all a bit late to fix with taxes to enter the uk, sure we all used to smile at them with their old bangers turning up, now look at the Spanish fleets, like a bloody armada steered by Romanians… Check j carrion website for a clue…

Inflatables crossing our channel now full of immigrants, time to commission the spitfire and oil the machine guns, cant be having this, Buzzer.

And by look of the pictures of the boat, that wasn’t used for one way work, but to be used many times backwards and forwards over the channel. Maybe towing other rafts.

At £13,500 a head, as reported in the press, its a lot better than haulage rates.
At that price of course there will be people ready to do it. In fact where did I put my inflatable?

David

They had the town clerk of the town where they were recovered from on Jeremy Vine today , he said its the second occasion it has happened there and also 12 found on a yaught in Chichester a couple of weeks ago.

From Albania put them on a plane and send them back simples, be cheaper in the long run, Buzzer.

Blimey I must be getting old that name just means spark plugs to me. :open_mouth:

For what it’s worth, I love Europe and Europeans but I don’t want my country ruined

by faceless bureaucrats. I much prefer it to be ruined by British politicians whose arses I can kick.

So I’m OUT!

Well I was the one responsible for starting this thread and this is by far the best speech on the EU referendum I have seen and it should be screened on all television channels in primetime slots every night for a week so that there is no excuse for any one saying they did not know why not to vote OUT and leave this corrupt organisation.
Well done for “tachograph” for posting this piece, just someone please get it to a wider audience so everyone is aware just how important this vote is, no time for apathy or I did not have time, make time and vote OUT or regret it for your selves and the future generations of your families, by god that was worth watching, Buzzer voting OUT.
