whisperingsmith:
as a lad I had no doubt about the supremacy of the British or doing my bit for Queen & Country or ever doubted it at the time.
Looking back I can’t see any evidence that much of it was for Queen & Country but what is etched on my mind is as a teenager 1965/67 running up the Mekong in Vietnam with Aviation Spirit and the absolute madness of war.
What did Brit forces have to do with Vietnam in '65-7 as opposed to Australian ?.Nor was there anything more ‘mad’ about that war than Korea both being the defence of South East Asia against Chinese backed Communist aggression. The bit they got wrong with was that they wasted loads of lives by needlessly putting boots on the ground when Curtis Le May could have been given the green light to wipe Hanoi off the map and bombing North Vietnam back to the stone age without any need for anyone to set foot there.Just as North Korea could have been before.
As for Queen and Country she actually signed the Royal Assent for the European Communities Act when Heath put it in front of her.Instead of her telling him no way then ordering his arrest by the forces for treason.Any of which helps the remainers argument, that the only by putting Europe’s Nation States under the jack boot of the EU Federal government dictatorship can create so called peace in Europe, how.Unless you’re saying that the Brit forces are actually on the side of the EU and against Brit sovereignty as seems the case.Good luck with that when the EU’s idea of ‘peace’ is going to war with Russia.
I see Corbyns at it again wanting to take over negotiations with the EU even though they have already stated they wont budge on the agreed deal . What makes me laugh is that this clown and his party have already indicated that they would look to have another referendum so a party backing remain want to negotiate a leave deal with the Europeans who wont budge . Is there a party out there that actually want to respect the people of this country ? …… I think not

I think ‘Whisperingsmith’ is pretty much on the money. His post isn’t a slur on the 17 million leave voters - but he is absolutely right that some posts, from some of you pro- leavers are downright racist, homophobic, xenophobic - and sometimes just pure ignorant.
Fact- almost 100,000 Australian servicemen were killed in both World Wars, and of course, others died from all corners of the Commonwealth.
Yes, remember, both world wars started as a result of overt racism & xenophobia in Europe.
As has been posted before- the EU was conceived to prevent further wars - it has been completely succesful in doing that.
Yes, it isn’t perfect, yes, it does need teaking in various ways - but it has brought peace. And surely the best way to ‘tweak’ it, is to be in it.
Cheers Keith
Well said Keith, for the record I thought that Whisperingsmith was a tad over the top in his post (I wouldn’t call other people SS and Nazis for instance) but it is a fact that many of the Brexiteer posts have been racist and xenophobic, the proof is here in these pages.
No surprise to see the usual hysterical response though, but calling for his post to be withdrawn by the mods really does take the biscuit when we look back and see what others have written.

If Labour had any intention of delivering Brexit it would be Leaver Hoey in the job of shadow Brexit minister not remainer Starmer. It’s obvious that Starmer, like remainer May is all about ‘negotiating’ a remain deal not a Leave ‘deal’.Leave by definition meaning no deal. While the EU has already said that it will certainly ‘budge’ in that regard by cancelling Article 50 and accepting Starmer’s and Cable’s grovelling apology when the remain LabLibSNP alliance takes over the agenda after May and her Cons effectively hands it over to them as intended from the start.
Yes there is a Party which wants to deliver Brexit it’s called UKIP.The problem being that there’s now no more reason to think that the next election won’t be rigged in that regard just as any supposed second EU referendum would be.Make no mistake Brexit would take the Head of State and the military to deliver it not our dodgy EU infiltrated version of democracy.Unfortunately the Queen and the military having already shown that they would rather allow the government to sell out the country and bear allegiance to the EU insignia/flag than to defend the country against this insidious takeover which was basically a done deal as of 1973.Bearing in mind the question of the legality of any process intended to vote the country out of existence anyway. So not only a rigged process but also an illegal one regardless.

The Common Market was initiated to create a "trading group"to facilitate import and export of goods between countries.Along the way largely unknown senior figures within the Common Market developed the idea of a federal state of Europe. We,the common people, certainly weren’t consulted about this then after the Treaty of Maastricht(?)we were presented with it.Further development sees us where we are now and this unelected elite are well on the way to becoming the equivalent of the Nazis of the 1930s/40s without the violence or a need to invade another country. They pretend to be democratic as long as you vote their way.If not keep voting until you do.e.g.France,Netherlands,Ireland.Greece and Italy are struggling economically.Other countries suxch as Poland and Hungary resent cultural changes being forced on them by immigration. This is not racism.(Incidentally, why is racism always assumed to be whites v others and not in reverse?)
I believe the EU eventually will implode and the euro will cease to exist.
Just wondering if LAPLAND offered a free house and four hundred quid a week and free health care to immigrants they would fill up loads of rubber boats and make passage to there shores instead of ours, personally I don’t think they would but they all want to come here so I ask myself is there something radically wrong with our system and the way we do things here. That applies to UK citizens as well who cant be assed to get out of bed and find work, there is plenty of opportunities else we would not have thousands of Europeans over here working. We need to change the system and PDQ and we would save just as much money if not more than coming out of the EU, if we did both options just think of the spare dosh the government would have to spend on the National Health and Police and the like.
We must be quite a tolerant nation as we don’t seem to riot very often, the nearest we came to that was the miners when Maggie was in charge unlike France where today there was more trouble and some reckon that civil unrest could happen big time there, they are fed up with heavy taxation to the point where they feel they need to demonstrate led by the right wing element but it does not take long to escalate to gigantic proportions and all get involved ( get your tin hat out the wardrobe Spardo )
Cant wait till Tuesday to see what the hell will transpire next in Whitehall, just imagine what people in other countries are thinking how this whole Brexit scenario is being handled, Keep calm and carry on does not really sum it up, most of the MP’s are only looking to there own financial futures and we desperately need a saint to lead us to pastures new, we need someone with balls, big balls who is not in it for personel gain, someone patriotic who has a vision for our country outside this corrupt EU money grabbing machine, we can only live in hope, Buzzer.
Buzzer, they tried that when Sweden was so stupid and naive a few years ago and said ‘‘all are welcome’’[just like Germany].They spread the ‘‘welcomed’’ thoughout the country but 80% of the ones they sent up here either refused to get out of the buses or after a week demanded that they be sent to the South of the country where ‘‘there is a lot more to do and a lot of my friends live there’’.Here up North it was considered ‘‘too primitive’’,so immigration Agencies were obliged to find them better accomadation in a more '‘civilised’'area.
I don’t wish to sound defeatist but I’ve got an awful feeling that the remainer political elite and all their upper/middle class and celebrity followers are going to get their way, the result of the 2016 referendum seems to be being diminished by each passing day, it’s almost as if a conspiracy is going on.
So my working class lorry driver opinion, and that of the 2016 majority let’s not forget now, counts for nothing. I know this is the season for goodwill, but I don’t feel that for the aforementioned as I’m sure they couldn’t for me. As long as they get their online orders delivered and the shelves in the shops are full that’s all that matters.

The conspiracy started in 1973 when the Head of State/Royal Perogative passed Heath’s treasonous Act tying us to the EU instead of having him arrested. There was no backing out after that without the Queen having to admit dereliction of duty.
As for the 2016 ‘referendum’ it seems clear that it was a rigged plan to seal us into the EU which went wrong because there were just too many leave votes to miscount/lose and/or miscommunication among the different counts as to the state of play.Everything we’ve seen since is the establishment alliance plan B to create the same outcome.Having also obviously inserted the insurance policy of it not being a binding document on the government clause to be invoked as and when it suited them.
Realistically the difference between whether we secede from or even should have joined the EU was always going to be about which side the Queen and her forces were on.If she’d have said no then there’s no way that parliament would have wanted to take on the Royal Perogative and its armed forces sworn to its exclusive allegiance not parliament.Make no mistake the Queen and the forces are onside with the EU and we’ve got absolutely no chance of arguing with that agenda as it stands. As opposed to if the Queen and by definition the forces were on the side of secession from the EU.
Also seems something strange about a quasi De Jure state in the form of the EU being recognised internationally for the purposes of making international trade deals and its equally invalid
/illegal Federal ‘borders’.Dark Forces indeed.Probably the same ones which corrupted the US constitution from the original Confederation of Sovereign States and which view anything other than a De Jure and inevitably eventually a Facto Federal Europe, let alone the successful secession by any state from same,as being an indirect threat to that illegal hijacking of the US constitution.IE the stakes are too high for that agenda to allow Brexit ( Secession ).We can take the laughable situation of the President of the US Federation supposedly supporting Brexit with the same pinch of salt that Cameron’s referendum was ever designed to deliver a Leave vote.Which probably explains why for all his pretend bluster Trump didn’t take the nuclear option of unilaterally de recognising the UK as an EU member state after the referendum just as it unilaterally recognised the state of Israel before anyone else did.
Make no mistake we’re lumbered with the EU because the US wants us in it and if not could have got us out simply by telling the UK government that it no longer recognises the UK as an EU member state and UK vehicle imports will be hit with massive tariffs if EU duty and type approval aren’t withdrawn from US vehicle exports to the UK with immediate effect as part of that.

It was never intended to be a ‘Common Market’.As any car exporter to Denmark could tell you and it’s also why Heath had to bury FCO 30/1048.

Again:
Enoch Powell on the Common Market. Ne’er was a truer word said.
And a quote from his speech immediately before the 1974 Election :
“Curiously, it so happens that the question ‘Who governs Britain?’ which at the moment is being frivolously posed, might be taken, in real earnest, as the title of what I have to say. This is the first and last election at which the British people will be given the opportunity to decide whether their country is to remain a democratic nation, governed by the will of its own electorate expressed in its own Parliament, or whether it will become one province in a new European superstate under institutions which know nothing of the political rights and liberties that we have so long taken for granted.”
I`ve just read that Nigel Farage is planning to launch a new party , well hurry up Nigel we need someone to get us out of this mess and the EU. The EU leaders know that when we leave the whole of this corrupt organisation will crumble and the gravy train will dry up

The same Farage who told the leave vote to trust May and her Cons to deliver Brexit as he walked away from the process and who endorsed Bolton’s leadership of UKIP and who is now,all too conveniently for the Remain agenda, trying to destroy Batten’s leadership and conveniently split the vote in the inevitable election that’s ahead.Batten would make a 10 x better and more trustworthy PM than Farage although even he is no Shore or Powell. On that note it’s not ‘when’ we leave it’s ‘if’ we leave ( doubtful without at least Queen and forces steadfastly onside and the conflict of interest which secession in Europe creates regarding US domestic government interests ).

Unfortunately he seems to have been going by the false hope that people like Benn,Heffer and Shore had a firm grip on the direction of the Labour government having rightly given up on the Conservative European Federalist Party. He certainly wasn’t advising any vote for Heath in that statement.
Farage has changed, or maybe the real Farage is just revealing himself
I take away no respect from the man for bringing the 2016 referendum to pass, but since that vote he dropped out just when he was needed most, now resigned from UKIP along with his sidekick Nuttall.
UKIP is the only alternative at present to the three parties of betrayal (actually its a one party state with two and quarter teams, not a ■■■ paper between them, each trying to out-betray each other and the British people), and instead of yet another vote splitting party with controlled opposition Farage at the helm, what we need is a UKIP with Batten as leader prepared to allow in the previously ostracised ex BNP/EDL members, those groups already have experience of being vilified by the bought and paid for media and are not cowed.
It is a time for patriots to stand together against the fifth columnists traitors and communists who infest the three parties who intend our country should remain under the yoke of the German state in the guise of the EU.
UKIP, FB, BF, together with ex BNP/EDL and other patriot minded groups are the only way to get our country back, they must form an alliance if our country is to be saved.
Farage takes credit for destroying the BNP, which was at one time the only party openly against the EU, don’t let him destroy UKIP too, or we are all lost.
