Having been down in Essex today, i suddenly noticed what an absolute [zb] hole it is, the amount of litter and general state of the place is just awful, especially along the A13, the roadsides and lay-bys are a disgrace. And whenever I drive over the border into Essex, I just notice the standard of driving deteriorates big time, what is it with the place?? Got me thinking, does anyone else find this? And is there other counties as filthy?

think the problem with the a13, is mainly from thurrock upto in my opinion about barking.
could have something to do with the large amount of transport and groupage type firms on and around this stretch, so lots and lots of lorries overnighting in laybys and the like, with insufficient parking provided by the local authorities not many other places to go, which, wrong as it maybe, leads to a certain element leaving their rubbish behind at the side of the road.
i don’t know why but the whole area kind of reminds me of coslada, in madrid when i used to go there, lots of haulage related business, and lots of general mess and rubbish.
as for the standard of driving, think its an m25 thing, the closer you get to it, the lower the standards seem to be, and once your inside the m25, its just downhill from there, although maybe abit cleaner.
The whole of East Anglia is full of chavs and inbreds.
Your sister is your mother,
Your father is your brother,
You all shag one another,
The Norfolk family.

There is a definite North / South divide in Essex. Once you reach Chelmsford it improves.
I was born and bred in Colchester.
There are some very picturesque parts of Essex- Basildon, Purfleet, Canvey Island etc

the festival leisure park, or “bas vegas” as “us” locals call it, never fails to disapoint for a night of chavdom.
go there on a sunday afternoon and its like an episode of my big fat gypsy wedding.
wonder why i’ve done continental work for so long?
…You have obviously never visited my hometown of Bradford then. You do not have to be Taliban to visit there, but it helps.

In which direction?
As the natural progression of this thread has been south to north then I just continued on that line

I was born in Ipswich, but lived in Colchester for the 1st 15 years of my inbred life
I have now been living in Ipswich and near areas for 13 years of my now later Chav life, I have moved from Woodbridge, then Capel Saint Mary and then Tattingstone. I havw tried to escape what I am but no matter where I move I just can’t escape the fact I’m an in bred Chav so at 17 I bought a Nova GTE, then I got a xr2i, then I decided to step it up and got a fiesta Rs Turbo with 210 bhp, although I was missing one thing at the time and that was a NY Yankees cap so I went and got one.
After 2-3 years I decided to go for a little more class and decided to get a Mr2 Turbo, had that 18 months then got a Scooby Wrx Turbo Import, but how I couldn’t escape my old chav life I ended up spending Saturday nights down Southend and Basildon strip.
A few more many years past ad I slowly grew up as I slowly downgraded to a 306 GTI-6 and then a xr3i, RS 2000, then a mondeo St-24, then a Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec and then oh my days this chav grew up and got a 106 Diesel
