What’s the vehicle under wraps behind the ERF?

What’s the vehicle under wraps behind the ERF?
I’d say it was a Ford ‘A’-series pick-up. Robert
The A-series were introduced to fill the gap between the transit and the D-series.
Introduced in 1973 on the Frankfurt-show, so not in Brussels
PV would make a quiz about it now

I’m going to go for Scania L50. Which show was it?
Edit- no, it’s an L111. Maybe…

Well I have an open mind on this one. The A-series Ford was certainly around at about this time. The photo was actually taken at the Brussels show in Jan 1973 so that should narrow it down a bit! Robert

Yes, that is what made me think Scania.
There’s no evidence here, as far as I can see on this admittedly very handy smartphone:
archive.commercialmotor.com/arti … -today-and
Perhaps someone has a European journal detailing the show?Alternatively, $48 buys the definitive answer:

I’ve been ploughing through this thread, looking for more pics of that 1973 Brussels Show stand. So far, nothing, but what a great read!

I can’t think of any other pics of the ERF stand taken at that time and I’ve just checked my folder of demo pics too. And yes, it does make for an interesting read! Robert

Found this advert yesterday Robert in a 1980 commercial motor. We know that Beeches sold some NGC’s.
Shame the adverts never had pics back then !0

Thanks for that John - it seems to make sense! I’ve just searched back to find what you were referring to as you didn’t repost it, so here it is again for DEANB who posed the question. By the way JDF 132N was based in Le Havre (not Calais) but that’s a detail! Cheers, Robert
Since 1948 Ets. A. Denonville had mutual presence on Brussels-shows with both Scania Vabis,
Autocar and White under the umbrella. That did not change until ERF and White were no longer
part of the group. The Scania under the wrap was a L36 by the way.
ERF-Continental:
… The Scania under the wrap was a L36 by the way.
Not in 1973 it wasn’t. The 36 was replaced by the 50 in '69 or 70, IIRC.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, DEANB is continuing some useful research to follow up a variety of rumours hopefully leading to fresh news of the NGC. Happy New Year. Robert
Apologies for the digression boss. All the best for the New Year, to all contributors to this fascinating thread.

No probs mate - diversity broadens our understanding of the whole, as I think you’ve pointed out before! Happy New Year to you too and to all who brave this thread! Robert
